Just because some photog caught the image of a diff looking Pani doesn't mean its a factory prototype does it? I mean how many countless versions of Panis has mito22 captured or shared on the picture thread that no one has seen before? Until more evidence, I'm thinking this is a retail consumer with some personal mods that R&T saw and thinks is a 'spy' bike.

It appears to be from a known area where Ducati does their road testing, you can see the watermark. I've seen these type of pics before, most recently the new Monster.

If anything this is just a regular S with Sach of .... testing.

Might be a S with prototype semi active suspension if anything, it would make sense for Ducati to venture that way, but as for a RS I call bull$hit

The information is conflicting .. Ducati usually reserves RS for the top of the range and if it is indeed a replacement for the 848 Evo then why call it an 1199 ?

In addition, correct pictures of a 1st Generation 1199 RS were floated over 8 months ago - origin Russia. Since Ducati come out with the second generation RS with a price tag > $46K - $150K.

I therefore suspect that this is a possible replacement for the 848 Evo.

Please be an 899. The 848 needs an update.

The current livery of the 848 Evo would indicate that it is the end of the line for that model. Rumor mill has been doing over time about Ducati bringing out smaller bikes, the spy photos for this thread would indicate an 848 Evo replacement while the other rumor is the Ducati Scrambler.

Yup. An 848 update.

Just as they did a 916/748, a 999/749/, a 1098/848, etc. they're doing an 1199/899 (or 8xx whatever).

The cf is irrelevant. Just some bodywork stuck on.

46k for an RS13 ? Do you have to submit licensing to buy a Race Spec model.. I remember when yamaha R7's were the big thing & u had to show documentation to purchase.. 46k... Kope999 I'm sure is knocking on that door with his setup....

It seems reasonable ... in an I'm totally trying to justify this because no one needs to drop this on a 2 wheeled machine sort of way.....

To be specific:

1st Generation 1199 Panigale RS = $46K

2nd Generation 1199 Panigale RS 13 = $150k+

I have also seen $177K (highest quoted price), hence why I say $150K+ (minimum quoted price). I understand that both generations of the RS have been aimed at the privateer racers.

to me the suspesion looks the same as the multistrada , I think is a Panigale with SKYHOOK suspension on yes sign me up for an active suspension Panigale !!!

I think there is a difference between RS and RS13

There almost certainly is. No only in the evolution of 1199 RS line (2 versions so) but also in the actual body work. Other than visual observations, I really have no further data on what the differences are.

No one has said the obvious. It's a bike with higher spec than the current R.

Skyhook + Ti system, carbon fairings and other upgrades.
