RS Lives!!!

youngR, I trust this guy's comment a hell of a lot more, look at the picture. It's an S with Sachs (of ....) Skyhook forks.

yeah. I'm dont work for Ducati so I have no clue but bringing RS (higher version than R) dont make sense to me.

But I can see like you said above and/or 848 replacement.

Hell...some are saying it may be R type of the 848 replacement....which dont make sense either.

Nope, looks like Marzocchi forks. All of us base guys recognize the red adjustment controls...

But the wheels and bodywork are $$$...who knows, maybe they're just testing a powerplant!

To be specific:

1st Generation 1199 Panigale RS = $46K

2nd Generation 1199 Panigale RS 13 = $150k+

I have also seen $177K (highest quoted price), hence why I say $150K+ (minimum quoted price). I understand that both generations of the RS have been aimed at the privateer racers.

it's very unlikely there ever was an RS at 46K. There haven't been since the 851 Race / Corsa's or F1 750 Montjuichs.. :)
the RS is not a 'higher' version. It as something seperate alltogether.
it is not freely available to paying customers, only to accepted raceteams with elaborate race programs.

it's more of what the FXX is to the Enzo

the RS has always been and is the base for the superbike for private teams. with every RS comes a seperate support scheme from Corse . Thuis goes from almost nothing to almost full factory ( Alstare)

Full factory bikes are labelled F0 and het year. Haga's 2007 999 being F07 ...

Visually the RS carries 2 very obvious main items: WSBK spec Ohlins gear + brakes ( FGR gasforks + brembo monobloc = 25K) at the front) and full Magnetti Marelli race electronics and telemetry (35k) . It is not homologated for the road. it carries race radiators and so no fans for road use cooling

RS is made by Ducati Corse which is a different/seperate company. As are all products for the SSTK catalog.

Even Ducati considers Corse a sep company as putting on stuff from the corse catalog annuls warranty , just a it does from another company ( if it touches engine management)

very probably this is the intro of the semi activ suspension that comes over from the Multi to follow the HP4 from beemer...

The mag is wrong IMO. Ti pipes, LED lights, CF, Sachs forks (maybe Skyhook to compete with HP4), and R wheels (am I wrong?). How could that slot in between a base and an S?

That's a lot of bling for an 899. So my guess is an answer to the HP4....

Yup. An 848 update.

Just as they did a 916/748, a 999/749/, a 1098/848, etc. they're doing an 1199/899 (or 8xx whatever).

The cf is irrelevant. Just some bodywork stuck on.

+1 Agree 100%. Hope they do produce an 1199 look a like in the middle weight category just like their 848 series... Do away with the trellis framed sportbike once and for all.

Kobe999R, With all due respect please check your information.

As I stated in previous posts the 1st Generation 1199 Paginate RS was released sometime ago, a member from Russia posted very detailed pictures to this forum. The 46K price I posted has been published and was indeed the price for the 1st generation RS version of the bike. The RS13 version is the latest version..

The RS version is generally viewed as a higher and greater specification version than the public R, the RS is intended for track use. As I already stated it is aimed at privateer teams.

You can doubt it all you want, however I am basing this on factual information not on a whim.

I have already stated that the RS is for privateer teams, so unsure why you keep repeating what I already said ?

Just some more info, here is the link to the 1st Generation Panigale RS ( which was built for BSB) .. price was 46K. You can also find the Russian version posted on here.

Ducati 1199 Panigale RS - Race Ready Superbike - YouTube

I have been very specific about my information.

There is no RS not for the road anyway...it will have a different name.

Those photos are not the 899 as it has dual sided swingarm

What do you mean? Pictures show single sided swingarm.

One guys says 799/899 and one guy says RS type/similar with different name.

I do like to know what it is. :D

The magazine photos are of the very expensive 1199 that is coming but it will have Ohlins

The 899 will have dual sided swing arm

Interesting.

I would've thought that 899 will come with single sided.

I wonder high expensive this version of 1199 (40, 50, 60, 70?) will be and what other things it will have that will justisfy the cost than just CF fairings.

Dual sided im afraid

quite a lot of other trick bits:)
