I know, its not a Panigale. I still hang out here though! Much more fun than the S1k forum.

Anyways, after the recent get off on this thing I had to redo it. Not much really, but I added some new parts along the way to be safe ;) It needed a new subframe, fairings, and right hand controls.

I went with the A-10 Warthog theme... get it... sharks? I also brushed the tank like the R - but did a gloss clear. :D

Anyways, hope you enjoy.

At least you don't have to look at it when you're on it... j/k :D

Awesome bike, must be killer on track. How much faster are you lap times than the 1199?

You scheme reminds me of my R1 track bike. I went with the original P-40 Flying Tigers scheme:

sick bike man. what kind of HP are you putting down do you know? just curious.

Now granted, we weren't going that fast, it was kind of a cold windy day and the track wasn't very grippy. The fastest I've ran at that track is 1:39 so a 1:46 is not exactly setting the world on fire. But it was still a lot of fun! That Beemer is fast in straight line for sure.

Yeah The BMW's s1000RR/HP4 secret is the light weight forged crankshaft they put in there stock and gearing ratio.

I have no clue what kind of hp its putting down. I do know its plenty for me! haha.

I have the same mods as a friend and his makes 195whp on a dyno down here, so probably something around that. Who knows

So what about lap times compared to your Pani? Your subjective comparisons after riding both at the same track?

Bad-arse Brother. However I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

I might be down at Roebling the end of the month to watch a buddy race. Let me know if your headed back there.

Oh, I also heard you sold the "R"?

A friend races SBK1 in Thailand and his S1000RR is producing similar figures.

I am faster on the BMW. It could be that I'm getting better, but I think it's because the bike is a lot smoother. It's a better race bike for me.

Yea man, I'll try and make it. I did sell the R. I'm a mere mortal, I can't afford to race and own the R :D

The 2010 and the HP4 are the only s1ks with the lighter crank. And not all the 2010s. It was replaced when engines started grenadine. Which is something I keep in mind on my HP4.

HP4s wheels also went on a diet as well, both the standard (black) and competition (blue) wheels are lighter than stock. Shouldn't affect HP but the less rotational mass does let it accelerate quicker than stock s1ks.

As for the 899 barely getting shaved by the HP4... Well if it wouldn't be just pure selfishness I'd buy the 899 for my girlfriend's 1st bike. But she's not ready for more than a 300 with 0 experience and I'm not gonna throw her down the street just to justify me buying a track toy

Good reasoning!
At the end of the day, its better to have something to go have fun in a race track often than a bike that you only take it to the starbucks...

Although, I wish I can afford to race and own the R myself. :D
