He let me ride it a couple times, it was referred to as the Widowmaker lol.

Exactly.... I had a friend who had a KH250 and I just loved the sound of that thing on full song...Made my RD250 sound poor in comparison... Loved those blue smoke trails though..

As we learned in the AR threads, there are a lot of steps to see highest readings with the Pani. Did they have the 140+ wind speeds for the ram air effect? The range of numbers from this bike is amazing. Cycle world got 169 hp last year, while sport rider got 145 ish.

Sport Rider did not get 145ish.

158.2 @10,600rpm, I'm looking at the graph right now. :p

He is! Here is a webcam of him and his boyfriend:

182.5HP with crappy Washington State pump gas-Superflo Dyno at Ducati Seattle, Termi slip-on with SPG map.
There dyno is usually 2-4% lower than a few other Dyno jet dyno's in the area.
I've ran it a couple other times and haven't quite cracked 180 again, close but no cigar. It does run a lot better and crisper after changing the fuel map. Also changed the throttle map and it pulls from down low so much better all the way down from 35-4000 rpm more like a 1098R if not better. I'm really happy with the performance overall.

I don't know how many examples it will take, or how many times said, that a dyno (maybe especially with the Pani) should only be used to tune, or run your own personal comparison of a change in hardware. The dynos on the forum are all over the place for this bike! :)

Everybody needs to take their bikes to Austin Racing... I hear their dyno is really accurate ....

as I recall, Road Racing World got around 169 RWHP on there testing.

I'm confused, what were they testing before that?

They did the big superbike comparo with the standard model. Then, I believe one or two months later, did a 3-bike exotic test with the ones in the graph. We're both right! Interesting that the S performed so poorly on the dyno. Both articles are on their website.

So they dyno'd the base and the S with the same exhaust? I can see the difference.

Yup! Completely different magazine features so I can see why they did it. But, I'm assuming they used the same dyno, and even on different days, you'd think the numbers would be closer. Good illustration of how the exact same model can vary on the dyno.

Good illustration why that makes no ....... sense, I assume round 2 they didn't remove the speed sensor.

I don't know why you're yelling at me. I'm just reporting the data:confused:

Well it's not a good illustration between models, we're effectively talking about the same bike. Base vs S has nothing to do with the horse power/exhaust it uses. It doesn't add up, aka they ...... up dyno'ing the second bike.
