Looks great Karrl. Is that seat more comfortable now? It looks really really thin.
 
its like driving my 911 without power steering. much better feeling whats happening on my rear wheel but its might be a little bit tougher fore your butt.
to find out if the hight is ok i drove 220 miles with just the plastic-plate without seat cushion. i do a lot of weight-training and squats whitch make my bottom more resitant.
 
I have found someone who can do my seat, taking it up there tomorrow so he can have a look and i'll have a look at his material.
 
I currently have the "Race" seat fitted, though I just dropped off my stock seat to be recovered in black Alcantara with Motorcycleseatworks

I'll pick it up next Friday and post pics and a review of the finished product.

I'm holding off on providing a personal definitive answer till I try my stock seat in Alcantara. At the moment, I like the race seat better than the stock mainly due to the more neutral planted feel.

When riding in an aggressive race position, the race seat feels good with the higher front leveling out the seat helping to keep you off the tank under braking. However, though a little more comfortable, the race seat will also sit you ~2 cm higher in a more relaxed upright street stance. This would make it a tiptoe affair for short legged riders and negates the extra rise Ducati added to the Panigale's bars.

I put about 350 miles on today with the comfort seat. I had less pain than I did from a 60 mile ride with the stock seat. Huge improvement, and the height difference is not a big deal for my 32 inch inseam.
 
Stock seat in Alcantara v/s DP Race Seat.

60 miles on the Stock seat in Alcantara and I now like it better that the DP race seat. I think the stock seat looks better as well.

I also like the Alcantara covered stock seat. I find the stock seat very comfy and as I'm short I'm wary of going for the race or comfort seat.

Anybody know of a motorcycle seat cover specialist in East Anglia/Midlands?
 
My seat selection is always the drivers seat. On a serious note got used to the standard seat on a 1098 and 500 miles was not an issue... (didnt make my piles bleed).
On a more serious note were did you get your seats done (as my doctor says bleeding piles aint good). I would like to make my 1199 comfy... er.

I believe it was Motorcycle Seat Works in Bradford, but I'd like to find someone more local (East Anglia/Midlands - probably like you too, I imagine).

I don't think I can face sending the seat away yet...
