I've given up on my arse being bruised and have now fitted the DP racing seat.
I love it!!!

Now all I gotta do is finish my 600 miles and then disconnect the flapper valve after its service and the world is at one :)

Does anyone have a pic of the race seat on a bike? The seat is the part I most dislike about my bike, be it on the street or at the track. I am constantly hard against the tank. To move around on the bike at the track you need to be a few inches back from the tank and I can only do that if I load the bars. Does the race seat pitch up in the front more, or is it at least level to the ground?

I think the race seat, like the comfort seat, is significantly higher in front than the stocker. Here's a pic of one fitted, not the best, but you can tell there is more padding up front. I have the race seat sitting at the dealership, with the bike, waiting for me to get back to the country to pick it all up.

What wheels do you have on?

I have gone back to stock seat after having comfort seat on for 2000k
going to see it it takes some pressure off mt wrists
if so i will stick with stock seat and maybee retrim

? is race seat even lower

Thanks guys. I thought all those pics were of the recovered stock seat, I better get a look on my desktop instead of my phone!

Gave up on the stock seat!! Put on the comfort seat, mama Mia its like my ... is sitting on a cloud! Did notice the height difference but it's not as most people are making it out to be as " rideing in/ on the bike" in fact my legs fit better around the tank now!!

I think I'll go the sport Race seat.
I like the upper padding in the front, which helps to remain at the back of the seat, which is where you should always be.

I found the same as mrmaloo32. Had one short 40 minute ride on the new comfort seat and the pressure on the wrists was torture. So I spent $190 on comfort seat for 40 mins. Stock seat is back on.

I was thinking about that comfort seat, the extra padding, it looks like 1.5" at least in the front will actually increase the bend in your back and arms (base seat for the arms is 39 degrees of bend.

I'm going to get the race seat as like most ducs the stock pushes your huevos right into the tank.

i posted this on another thread as well. The comfort seat is softer and looks cool, but does push you further forward. The race seat is a much better fit for the bike as it allows you to be in a better riding position. It doesn't slope you forward and into the tank like trying to ride a streetfighter but allows you to naturally stay a bit back into the seat. This allows your elbows to be lower and weight off the bars (as you are supposed to ride/sit). Anyhow, I have all three seats and the race seat is the best for me in terms of riding position. The comfort seat looks the best (and short term feels the most comfortable) but thats it.

Gents, not one to have much patience I did a slight mod to the stocker; I pulled the seat and modified (ground down) the rubber supports UNDERNEATH the seat versus changing/ cutting the padding.
I shaved the two main (round) rubber mounts first..... Took them down so there was no more "ribbing" just solid rubber. This effectivley lowered the seat a touch, then ground angles on the elongated rubber mounts (fore & aft) to lower the rear of the seat and raise the front. It's made a great difference in the riding position......
That, coupled with some minor shaving on the foam portion of the seat, might strike the balance between the stocker and the comfort seat.
Just throwing it out there for consideration......
