I actually followed the break in procedures fairly closely, in that I didn't go much above 6K and 7K respectively during the first and second mileage periods. Today was the day that the second service and all recalls were completed. I decided on the way home to explore the powerband a bit and I'm completely blown away.

I've never had any motorcycle pull as hard, not even close. I was in second with a decent amount of throttle input, hit a very small ripple in the road and up comes the front end. Very controlled and if the wheelie control kicked in, it was very smooth and unobtrusive. It feels like I'm on a large displacement 2-stroke. So immediate and powerful. I didn't even get close to redline, I didn't need to. I'll be increasing the DTC and wheelie control until I get used to this.

My other two motorcycles are powerful, but this thing is on another level. Well worth the price of admission. Wow. The way the exhaust note changes at higher rpms is also very cool. Color me impressed.

Rode mine pretty hard from the get-go and recently had my 7500 mile service. She is running strong and just like new, if not better since I've done an exhaust, filter, tune, and added 2 teeth to the rear sprocket. It's a violent rocket ship I'm absolutely in love with.

I had the full Akrapovic race kit installed from the dealership, so it was delivered ready to go. I always break my toys in per the manufacturer's recommendations, and I know some do and some don't. I can't even imagine adding a few teeth in the rear. I agree with the "violent rocket ship".

The new Acura NSX is broken in at the factory on a dyno. You can have it delivered to the track if you want. I like that idea and would pay for it if it were an option on some of my other toys.

A large displacement 2-stroke, nice! You guys are gonna have to stop posting stuff like this. You're gonna make me want to get one!

I didn't even hesitate when the dealer told me the cost of installing the "included" Akra pipes was $2200... I was like, 226HP.. go!

Suffice it to say, I did ride under 7K until the 600 oil change, then switched to Motul 300V and got it up into the 11K range... and WOW... makes my S1000RR seem tame.. which says a lot.

Mine wasn't included, but I knew I'd wind up wanting it, so I had the Akra race kit installed before it was delivered. I agree, my other bikes seem tame comparitively.

I don't understand this post...you don't need a second service to open her up. There's a first, 600 mile service, and the second is at 7500 miles. They (Ducati and their manual) tell you to "take her easy" until 1500 miles. There's no second service to be done at this time.

You're absolutely right, and I completely confused the second rpm recommended limit of 7000 rpm until 1553 miles with a second service. It would have been nice if the dealership would have pointed that out. A bit late now, but at least I got all the recalls done.
