The race bike (base, no abs, bazzaz, full termis, etc) is gone. 2 get offs and last
one at 130mph proved too much for her. So looking to replace for remainder of the track season and for racing next season.

Going to start with either an S or an R but looking feedback from those tracking their R to see what their experience has been so far. Mostly interested in engine and mapping differences.

Is the extra 500 staying as over-rev or have you successfully tuned for more hp?
New ECU better?

The Tri is likely going to be sold/traded in for the R and we'll see what I decide on the SL.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

May not know as much of the technical jargon to answer your specific questions, but...

Absolutely love the R on the track. Many-a-time the extra 500 RPMs saved me an upshift and let me focus on the turn more than the rev limit.

And while you didn't ask about this, I'd say the Titanium goodies in the R make you feel more confident that it can take a beating and keep on speeding.

As for mapping, not sure if the smoothness and effortlessness of the R is because all 2013s improved or if it's such just the R that happened to come out once the kinks were mostly worked out.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response Roc. Ok 1 response is an opinion, 2 makes it fact. I just need one more to convince me to pull the trigger! Anti? Kope? George? Anyone?

The alternative is just making the Tri a race bike. But for some reason that just feels wrong.

The extra 500 will help you hold the revs longer for some corners so having to shift less .
More importantly the motor is going to hold together longer with the Ti rods on the R.
If you choose to race the Tri pull the motor down and replace the conrods .
I actually like the adjustable swing arm on the R as well.

Thanks Wilkson. I just asked our mechanic for a quote for the conrod swap. Working final price on R right now.

Cheers

Munroe and Marin Speed Shop just have always been good to me over the years so they get my return business.

Wilkson,
You mentioned, you like the adjustable swing arm. Can you feel the difference and characteristics of each setting? I probably dont feel the difference in that I am a newb compared to yourself.
