Are you receiving a rebate check for the 6 month or do you get a statement with $0 due?

Ducati pays freedom road directly for the first 4-6 months (depending on which model).

Although it's a bit confusing, cause I was getting statements as well even though ducati was paying. Called them and they said they send statements to both parties. Also, took a while for ducati to kick in (it was past the due date on the first payment). They said that was ok and no penalties or anything. Since then, payments have been on time by ducati.

What's the catch on those promotionals, do they tack on fees or hike up the interest to make up the difference? There has to be a catch, no?

the catch is prolly the high interest 5.9%. I've never paid above %3.5 for any vehicle.

The interest is in the 5% range, and you pay the difference between the normal payment less the $130 they pay for you for the first 6 months. I did the math, and if you plan on paying it off sooner than the full term of the loan, it makes financial sense.

they pay 263 dollars of my payment for 6 months so I put down 6500 dollars to make the payments 262.xx. the day after they make payment number 6 i send in the payoff.

really kind of annoying, I would have much preferred a 1500 dollar rebate and just pay cash and forget the note altogether.....but whatever.

Did you guys get anything in writing like a contract addendum or anything written into the sales contract stating Ducati's making the payment?

You're really worried about this aren't you? This is the second thread where you're asking about the program and I think you got some solid answers in both.

It's as low as 4.99% over 84 months simple interest loan (no prepayment penalties and no extra fees - unless you did a crap job negotiating with your dealer), if you have Tier 1 credit, and as gnance said they pay the first 4-6 payments depending upon which 2012 model you get. Ducati wasn't late on my first 2 payments, and again as he said you'll get an invoice from Freedom Road even though Ducati North America is making the payments. I called Freedom Road and they reported that Ducati was making the payments well before the due date so I'm pleased. I'm going to do the same as Higgs Boson and pay it off once their last payment is made. If you can do it exactly as he has done it and work the deal so the payment is the maximum Ducati NA allows on your model, and then pay it off after their last payment, then that's the cheapest way of getting the maximum rebate and paying the least amount of interest.

IIRC in the other thread the responses were showing dealers were giving another 9.5%-10% off the MSRP for 2012's, so don't forget to beat them down and the financing is completely separate from the deal you make.

If you keep the loan a little longer, then you'll pay more interest, but who cares, you have an 1199, the pinnacle of Ducati sportbikes, for about the same monthly cash flow as a new Japanese 600!

freedom road has recently overhauled their website so your entire account information is now available online.

So OP, did you pull the trigger yet? You only have 2 more days as most dealerships are closed on Sunday...

I didn't really get anything "in writing" about them paying the first 4-6 payments. Like I said though, it took ducati a little while to make the first payment probably since it was a new account. After which though, payments have been on time and no problem.
