Sold the Pani & Bought the F4RR

I can honestly say that this Ducati owner (me) has no such dreams of owning an MV. Just doesn't do anything for me.

Congrats on the bike though!! It is beautiful just not something I care to own.

All of the F4 pics will be the same since it hasn't changed in 10 years:D

Just kidding....not really. Beautiful bike though and enjoy!

I haven't owned a modern sport bike that was easier to work on. I like them so much I bought two. Here's a pic of my F4 312R taken last night. And a shot of my F4 1000S with my 916 and ex-749.

Congrats! She's purdy.

What aftermarket pipes are those? Definitely need a sound clip and fly-by at WOT.

I miss my F4 1000R, she served me well for 18,000 miles with ZERO problems.

I put the Bodis Titanium full exhaust from Germany.

Congratulations. I'm sure it's a thrilling bike to ride, but I'll come to Steve's defense...that single diamond shape headlight reminds me of the front end of the GSXR. Italians understand passion and incorporate it to such a great degree on their bikes and cars, which is why it baffles me that MV doesn't have two evil looking eyes that trigger that relatively massive portion of our brain devoted to facial recognition.

Keep us posted on your experience with the bike. I've only heard horrible things about reliability and dealer service and I'm sure we're all curious to see what real ownership is all about.

Fair enough. But I think when you have an iconic design, changes should be subtle and evolutionary, not revolutionary, just as the Porsche 911's body progression to what we have now. I personally was disappointed with the radical (to me) styling change from MY 09-10.

The 911 comparison is apt.

Poor Adrian Morton, understudy of the master Tamburini, was tasked with the redesign of the current F4 back in 2011. I wouldn't have wanted that job.

@ Antihero - The single light on the F4 was intentional by Tamburini because he wanted to differentiate the design from his 916 design. I wouldn't want it any other way and Adrian Morton understands that as well when you view the F3.

Nice bike :D.
So what if the MV is an old design, the fact it still looks this good 15 Years later says a lot.

Better Morton than Terblanche!

this is sound like the guys from the honda forum when somebody ask about ducati. I have 7 legit warranty work on my panigale in just 1300 miles. my MV has 0 problems in 2000 miles.

the only way people will appreciate MV is by riding it and please make sure you pushed hard (you will feel the variable air intake opening around 8000 rpm and the sound yes the sound of that hemi engine sounding like a Ferrari).

.... it I'm going for a ride :D

Poor comparison since Honda being Japanese will always be reliably superior.
At best, MV and Ducati's reliability will be similar but MV cannot match Ducati's parts and distribution network, not even close.

Having said that, I think MV has been making fantastic bikes lately. The F4 NOT being one of them. It is a heavy pig that badly needs a redesign.

I went to check out the F4 in person and it was too big for me. The seat is way too wide that it makes my legs go outward before being able to go down. Which rest weight on a part of my leg that shouldn't have weight. So basically I had the edge of the seat pan area digging into my leg.

Aside from that the tail looked too fat IMO that it dwarfed the rear 200 tire.Headlight to me also reminds me of a gsxr. The gauge cluster well it looks like something from autozone with its bright blue backlit display. The wires going to the forks also looked very flimsy compared to 1199S.Wheels were ??? brand I hadn't heard of and look like well 1199 Marschesini...almost.

It was in general a nice looking bike but too many eyebrow raises for me - and those are $25,000 ones to be exact.I'd easily pick a tricolore 1199 for that range..The one I have pics of ill have to post soon.Your color scheme DOES look way better though.

HOWEVER the F3 fit me way better! So I'm not a complete MV doubter. At only $15k'ish range I am considering one for later.

If older F4 don't have such a wide seat I might jump on that instead.

Great looking bike! Congrats. Always nice to see pix of new bikes. Except BMWs. THOSE guys can f' off. ;)
