You guys are crazy. Too much nitpicking...

MV = Gorgeous
Ducati = Gorgeous

What is the problem?

Miami Tricolore, thanks for sharing. Awaiting track footage and feedback of the F4.

The honda guys said "don't buy a Ducati it cost too much to maintain (not true)"
The Ducati guys said "don't buy a Mv or a aprilia no parts and no dealer suppor(you don't need to visit the dealer every month and you can get parts the same way as any other brand) it all the same crap people just get loyal to a brand. I'm picking up a benelli next week let me guess no dealer support?

As long as manufacturers continue to raise the bar on performance, design, and beauty associated with bikes we can all benefit.

Congrats on your new ride!

Miami man your bike is splendid I would love to take him for a ride

Enjoy and send us a report how you getting on.
Do drop by for a cup of tea whenever you wish

Some people a bike for bragging rights. To those people, dry weight, stopping distance, lap times, and WHP matter most.

Others buy a bike because that particular bike scratches a particular itch.

In the end, we all win.

Well said brotha.
F4RR sure got my attention! :D:D:D

I was going to buy an F4, before I eventually went in the direction of DUCATI.
I ultimately steered away from MV because of the rear hub bearing problems.

I'm pretty glad I did because I like the 1199 better than the F4.
I do think the F4 is overdue for a design overhaul now.
It will be interesting to see what they come up with.
I wonder if the revised design will still have the Cyclops headlight, and perhaps they will relocate the exhaust to under the bike like the Buell/1199/F3:)

Do you have the link where they talk about the rear hub problems?

If you haven't already, go to mvagusta.net | the definitive mv agusta motorcycle source. That's the biggest MV forum there is. Tons and tons of knowledge base and very helpful people.

I put 18,000 miles on my 2007 F4 1000R and never had a problem, other than a set of fork seals at 17,000 miles, which I don't consider a problem but rather normal wear and tear. In fact, the hub bearing issue is completely overblown IMHO. Much like cylinder head leaking on the 1199. Yes, I've heard of it, but what percentage of bikes have it?

One other thing: When I owned a Monster S4R, I took the MV Brutale for a spin and found it a more exciting, more visceral bike. Had it been comfortable to wrap my 6'2" frame around, I would have traded. No 4-cylinder bike has had such an effect on me.

I had the F4RR 1000 and it was not even close to the 1199 in:

handling
torque
electronics, and did I mention TORQUE!

Best wishes with the F4.

I rocked the F4 1000 R Senna and was absolutely in love with it. It handled liked a dream and was really communicative... the steel trellis just seemed intent on forgiving any leftovers the suspension couldn't handle. The torque was leaps and bounds better than an i4 I've ever heard of, let alone ridden, but the electronics were pure ..... Ugh, those electronics...

I did a tremendous amount of work to my MV including 1080 big bore kit and ti rods, and Eraldo Ferracci and I spent more time with the map than I'd care to admit.

The graph doesn't get much prettier than this:

And the bike was a looker too:

That said, my GOD was it heavy and slow to turn in... and those electronics... But still, I loved my MV til the bitter end.

No hub problems in the 13 14 model years, they strengthened it and it should be near bulletproof. The MV is sublime in its ease of use, smoother in every way as long as you have the latest software in it. Both are incredible in their own right and probably cannot be directly compared although they are both used in SBK. On the open road, the MV is more beautiful in my opinion, although I've heard comments that they are both beautiful to the same extent. The MV requires more maintenance, hands down, its servicing more frequent. The Ducati looks minimalist in its engineering as its higher technology, more modern and monolithic. Each to their own, but I had to have both!

F4 1078 2009. Yes some do have problems. Hubs, overheating, relays, electrical issues etc
Lovely bike plenty of power (mine rwhp 186Nm) but some you must be patient.
Different bike/ philosophy from the Pani.
Enjoy yours RR is superb from what I read in the MV forum
