Some minor upgrades

Maybe we have the same front sprocket. When I check my weight spreadsheet my lightweight 520 from Motowheels is 178.4g. I purchased a Ti bolt from Proti to replace the OEM but ended up keeping the OEM. The OEM bolt weighs 27.1g.

I must admit I was a little worried about changing out the OEM bolt for the Ti one at the last minute because all the engine power is being concentrated on that front sprocket. I recall a few years ago a few posts on here of guys who were racing 1199's have some sprockets go loose. Guys were then safety wiring the bolt. The OEM has no provision for this unless you drill it.

You have given me confidence to swap mine out. Your bike is putting out more HP than mine so if it works on yours will work on mine.

There is absolutely no issue with running a Ti bolt on the front sprocket. That bolt is not loaded under tension (or shouldn't be) except for the torque value. Get the Race Drilled unit from Pro Bolt and wire it to the sprocket. Done. I have seen 2 1299s that were brand new with sprocket bolts that were barely tightened when the bikes were delivered. Torqued correctly with the appropriate thread chemical and your not going to have an issue.

I went and looked for my bolt and it turns out it was a pro bolt one new in the packet. I thought it was a Proti one I purchased. Been working on the SSD today so no time to swap over. Its a bit of a job to get to that sprocket.

Remove lower fairing, Clutch SC, front screw of pushrod, remove cover, thats it.
Bolt is an M10x1.25 x 30mm. Torque is 55Nm. Have fun :)

Thanks mate. Will send a pic when done. Have the bolt so good to go. So much bike work to do. Have a full Akra system coming for the K1300. Some little fuel leaks on the SSD etc etc.

Weekend here but Monday will ring some Ti suppliers. :)
