Sound dampening in V4 fairings

Hi
The V4 have gotten lots of ugly carpets attached to the inside of the fairing named either "Damper, Sound Arrester" or "Acoustic Insulation Panel" in the spare parts catalogues.

Attached a pic of the upper panel with the black insulation panel installed.

Was wondering if anyone has removed them and have had any problems or side effects?

I am running a set of aftermarket fairings that had the tabs but I did not add them back. I have run it at several track days and on the road with no issues. I am not sure if the bike is any louder as I have full exhaust and wear ear plugs.
