I had no idea Tenerife was an island, I just googled that ....!
Yeah it's like a commonwealth. Like what Puerto Rico is to the US & the Falklands is to the UK.

Kinda derailed this thread.
So what was the best let off anyone has had.
Mine, I was doing 110mph in 30mph on an RGV 250 when I was a kid. Only got let off because the bike cop had been trained in advanced motorcycling for the Sussex police force by my dad. He knew that If my dad found out I would get a right slap.
Got busted on my old base 1199. Still sitting in the impound lot.
Had to go out and buy a R to replace it. Pigs can keep that thing.
Er how much is the fine? Can't be more than the bike is worth?
My buddy got clocked at 147 on I40 North Tx... Pulled over by THP... His Mts was brand new..still had paper plates..he lied about not knowing his speed etc.. Got a warning....
"Gee officer, I don't know how fast I was going"
"okay son, in that case I'll let it slide this time, you obviously could not have known you were going over 70"

i left tx in 1982, back then they were called dps, prob still, no?
Just got my first in 10 years, two weekends ago on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Pulled going too fast with the wife hitting an underpass and a new exhaust. Nobody on the road except the cop coming from the other direction. After a chat with officer while in handcuffs, I was let go with a reckless driving ticket. Ended up getting a 6 month restricted license, a $2,000 dollar lighter checking account (fines and lawyer), and 10 days in jail.
Sold the car, moved out of Virginia, and a plan to never repeat events.
