I heard a rumor they were going to stop offering parts for dry clutches since Ducati has moved to wet clutches on all models. Anybody else hear the same thing?

Still zillions of companies doing stuff not to mention all the knock off chinese junk.

Since dry clutches are going the way of the dinosaur, can see them doing it to focus limited resources on other goodies.
Speedymoto makes some great stuff!

Thinking about it, I guess the 1098 streetfighter is the last dry clutch ducati?????

Yeah, I was kind of shocked. I figured I might upgrade the clutch on my SF one last time before the parts get to be hard to find if it is true.

Might be some truth to it... Just found this in a ProItalia mailing..

We’ve also got some SpeedyMoto news for you Ducati owners. First the good: All SpeedyMoto clutch components are 20% off. Now the bad: Ducati has moved away from the dry clutch and so has SpeedyMoto. These SpeedyMoto clutch components are on closeout and once they are gone they are gone for good! So this is your last chance to get the best “Made in the USA” clutch components available for your dry clutch Ducati

I converted my Pani to dry clutch. I just drilled a small hole in the bottom of the cutch cover. I think it somehow made the heat issue worse, but doesn't everything?

I'd tell you to check the oil level just to make sure your mod didn't affect it, but there's no cutout for you to check it. I'm sure it's fine though.

Oh, I fixed that issue. I superglued a pipe cleaner to my oil filler cap, and I use it as a dipstick to check the oil. I was thinking of starting a post on these 2 DIYs.

I've been back and forth on blinging my clutch on the sf, but I like the mag. cover it comes with.

I threw in a Barnett basket and plates and painted the Ducati pressure plate red with a Barnett half open cover. This is an old pic so I've had it like that forever. I was just thinking about switching it up a bit when I heard about the Speedymoto thing.

EDIT: Also note the ugly stock Streetfighter exhaust/heat shield. IMHO, not any better or worse than the proposed Pani model. :)

Just the way I was going to go about it! And a little more heat will keep my buns toasty! :D:D

this has to be a joke, what would keep oil from continuously leaking out the hole from the engine? Or am I completely missing something?

You are missing "something"... A cutout in the fairing to check the oil! So you can't really tell for sure if this mod causes oil to continuously leak out (just don't look at your garage floor if you do this mod).

What size drill bit did you use for the dry clutch mod?

I used a 1/6". You to be careful and not drill in too far, as you could damage the clutch (which I have since found out, actually must be wet in order to operate properly). I had a similar problem trying to drill a sight hole in the fairing to see the oil window - I drilled all the way into the crankcase, now I have this ugly piece of ductape where the sight glass was. That's why I made the pipe cleaner dipstick.

Thanks for the heads up. This is what I was trying to use, but missed. Not sure my neighbor will help out anymore.
