Ladder series are great, but there are always exceptions. Miller either has it and can get on top of it quickly or he doesn't. Case in point, Kimi Raikkonen. He'd done less than two dozen STARTS in cars period, and those in measly 4-cyl Formula Renault cars prior to getting a drive for Sauber in Formula One. Did well enough in his rookie season in that sub-par car to get offered double world champion Mika Hakkinen's seat at McLaren the very next year, and podiumed his first time out in it. Went on to be a World Champion himself later, of course.

True, let's not forget Nicky going from AMA to to MotoGP racing: Repsol Honda.

Therefore, I can't get the last race to post here ... Many regrets ...

This would be an amazing thing to see in MotoGP.

Kenny Roberts went from AMA Grand National Racing and won the 500 GP championship in his rookie season, won the championship 3 years in a row. But that was back when the USA had the best professional motorcycle racing series on the planet. Before the AMA decided to sissify the Grand National Series, pavement points and dirt points were separated for the number 1 plate, the Championship divided, the Americans lost their edge as being the ultimate training ground for world gran prix champions.
