He did it one time, but if you watch the tire race, Chaz was on the edge and couldn't draft pass. If he could have earlier, he would have. In the first race, he just couldn't, so I bet they made a change to make the tires last longer and got one good drive to see if he could get out in front at the end. It worked, but after they got passed him on lap 20, he was done, settled for 3rd.

You could be right. I don't know the race strategy for Chaz or when he was even attempting to make a draft pass but couldn't. Even if Chaz made a draft pass in race 1, I doubt he would have been able to break away from the pack so I assumed his strategy was to sit back and look for a weakness to exploit on the final laps.

I'm sure we'll see how the Panigale stacks up against the 10R and Ape in terms of power when they hit the back straight at Aragon for round 3. That's where the Panigale really struggled bad last year.

I think the Duc is going to do very well at the tighter tracks, I just want them to win everywhere all the time, but I am biased.

What great racing!!

Looks like a cracker of a season ahead for us, can't wait.

Doubling up on podium finishes certainly isn't anything to frown upon, but I was hoping for a bit more from the new R. It is clear there have been significant improvements since last year, however. PI results can often be misleading as a predictor of success at other locations-- here's to pushing for at least one tip of the spear finish in Chang Thai.
