Ben Spies has an unusually deep intellectual understanding of what's happening during a motorcycle race. I've heard him to race commentary before, and while his voice will put you to sleep, he really, REALLY understands what the hell is going on out there.
Rewatching Phillip Island, especially with Iannone corroborating Rossi's "outlandish" story that Marquez was riding slower to block Rossi and give Lorenzo a bigger lead, it now becomes obvious. And in Sepang it was clear as day. Unfortunately, Rossi's response was equally as clear on camera.
So Marquez thinks his mission now is to .... with Rossi's championship drive by slowing him down in every race? Biggest dick move ever. While I was shocked that Rossi would act out in such an unsportsmanlike fashion, I can't say that if I were in the same situation, I would have had any patience at all. If you keep asking for it, someone's gonna bitchslap you.
