Hi

Spot the 3D printed parts. What do you think? Would you or have you used 3D printed parts on your bike?

Awww come on everybody. Everyone takes a look but keeps your guesses and opinions to yourself? Negative opinions most welcome 😃

I give you a clue there are three 3D printed parts maybe 😜

I wish there was a way to make the heated grip button the pit lane limiter like on the V4R.

The tacky reservoir caps?

How did you guess? 🙂 You found two out of three.

Yes not easy to get a finish like the expensive machined ones but I thought I would see what it would turn out like. They actually look better than the photo but yes who would put cheap plastic on a Ducati? I reversed engineered these from the Brembo black ones meaning these tacky one took hours of work 🤣. Oh well It gave something to do.

There is actually quite a lot going on with the Brembo caps.

Could that be just some kind of adapter to plugin into the 6 pin connector that diverts the heated grip circuit or is it more involved i.e need to update software also.

A pit lane limiter not much use for me but I could put some LEDs on my reservoir caps and use the extra button to turn them on 😜

I like the Button Boxes 😬

Me too. I didn't plan to get them but I upgraded the brake lever to the Brembo RC17 and realised that It hit the stock switch.
That led me to buy 2 switches, 2 mirrors, 2 grips 💰. Just the clutch lever is left but I am hesitant for the moment.

For the pit lane limiter, it would likely require an update to the dash software as the limited speed is a selectable item.

For what you want to do with it, you could check the pin out and see if there is a voltage change on a particular wire for the right controls and use it to trigger whatever you want. You would likely have to make some kind of a logic or control circuit board to do so.

I don't see the third item. I would
Guess the winglets

No, but you have given me the idea to try and print them with a PETG/Carbon Fibre filament they are not cheap to replace and my left ones have some minor scuffs.
The trouble is trying to get a high quality finish but if they could be red that would be interesting.

Okay if no one can spot the remaining 3D printed parts then maybe I did a good job 🤔

Anyone know why the winglets are designed by sandwiching two pieces together? There's actually some foam in between. Perhaps it's just a way to keep the weight down and keep the shape stable under stress. I wonder if the carbon fibre ones are the same. Anyone know?

I would think they're two pieces for reasons of weight and cost. The larger 2020-2021 wings on the Panigale are two piece as well, but the carbon fiber ones I have are one. Totally different manufacturing though.
