Stock exhaust melting lower right fairing section

I am probably going to do termi slips when I do the fairing and heat shield recall (if I decide to install it - going to go look at a bike in person first). I'll make sure there is as much clearance as possible and try (if I can) to keep that cleat and spring away from the fairing and/or use the rubber spacer things. I guess we'll see. It isn't happening to everybody so there must be something unique about the way our bikes were put together that is causing it.

Mine fairing is touching as well and it's beginning to discolor and melt,.
Joy...
Might as well get the warranty replacement order put in now before it becomes very noticable...

I took my bike in to get this fixed as my fairing had just started to melt. I asked if the pipe could be rotated inwards. I was told by the dealer that it couldn't be rotated.

Not believing the dealer I went home and pulled the exhaust apart and noticed that the pipe CAN be rotated inwards so the tag doesn't touch the fairing, and the pipe now fits perfectly.

Problem fixed. I also lined that part of the fairing with heat resistant tape.

My dealer did the same me but it has re-settled somewhat and now just misses touching...
