Stoner vs F1 vs Supercar

Thanks for posting this video. One of the most interesting of this nature that I've seen. Was somewhat surprised at the bike's acceleration off the line compared to the F1.
Wouldn't of made much difference against Webber but it's too bad Stoner didn't have a MotoGP machine.

Yeah, stoner looked like he was pushing the stock Honda.

Give him his old RCV213.

Even with the GP bike I don't see anyone hanging the F1.

It is a Top Gear comparison. Unlike Fifth Gear, or DRIVE, or EVO, or other magazines where bike v car comparisons often won by bikes, bike v car comparisons done by Top Gear (or specifically "where Jeremy Clarkson was involved") bikes virtually never won.

A bike (regardless of power) will NEVER beat an F1 car around the track. NEVER. It may hang with an F1 in the straights but will lose a few seconds around each corner every single time. Not Casey, MM, Rossi, etc.

A Moto GP bike might be able to hang with the Ausie V8 Supercar on the right tracks. Maybe COTAS, no way the Nurinburgring, for example.

But nothing compares to F1. Too much downforce. And F1 cars rule on bumpy tracks as well. Good suspension, tires, seamless transmissions, ERS.

According to Guy Martin... modern F1 drivers are ........ That's what he was quoted saying while Webber visited the Isle of Man. Mark didn't have much of a comeback, but when you compare the Isle of Man to modern F1... it's hard to refute what Guy said. Isle of Man is the last form of pure racing left on this planet. F1 cars may be faster around a circuit, but the sport is diluted with politics and it's nothing like the insanity that is the Isle of Man.

Too bad for Guy that Mark likely had enough spare change in his pocket to buy every woman Guy ever met. Some F1 guys are wusses, Mark ain't one of them.

Man TT racers are just plain nuts. They all have the skills obviously....but do they ever race anything other than the TT???

I mean half of those guys are plumbers or whatever. So many aren't even pro drivers. Why not? Are they not fast enough on tracks that don't require pure insanity?

And why is it, that TT'ers are twice the size of moto GP racers? There isn't anyone on the podium at the IOM TT that couldn't snap MM in half.

You could even argue that the TT isn't even real racing. It's a time trial.

Besides, real racing is about technicians and machines, not drivers/riders. 24 Heures du Mans FTW.

The Isle of Man is obviously not about the money. Those guys just want to conquer the circuit. To be the best. That's what makes it the purest form of racing left.

Some do race have been successful at circuit racing, but many of them prefer roadracng or are better at roadracing.
