[/URL]Day 1
Left home West Midlands at 04.30 Panigale 1199 and MT07 on the trailer. Tracker triggered and within 10 mins phone call from Road Angel to say your bikes moving! Impressed does what it says on the tin. Five minutes later a Police van happened to pull out of a side street behind us, pulled us over to check we owned the bikes I hope this would happen in the event of theft!
Weather dry and un eventful till M20 when the trailer jockey wheel dropped down ( Indespension sold Michael the wrong sized jockey wheel) and the tyre on the jockey wheel flew off. Out with the gaffer tape (note I always advice to take some on your journeys!) wheel taped up and continued to Dover which was bathed in bright sunshine. The 10am ferry to Dunkirk was delayed slightly due to a technical problem but made up time at sea.
French motorway very smooth but surface deteriated markedly as soon as we crossed into Belgium. Passed Mons incidentally the 23/8 commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the battle of Mons. A lot of surface water noted, we stopped at a roadside snack bar near Mons got talking to a couple from Shropshire, they have had rain since arriving on Tuesday in Belgium and Holland. Light rain as we passed Namur, we arrived at our hotel in Rochefort bathed in sunshine.
Recovered in the bar from the journey, a nice meal at our hotel La Fayette, Rochefort met a lovely lady from Brussels we exchanged addresses with promises to write, she is 80yrs the same as my Mother.
I have to say I was uneasy leaving the bikes on board the trailer on the main road , I slept lightly with the window open!!!

Day 2
Fried eggs, fromage and smoked ham for breakfast at 8am, sun shinning and off we head on the autobahn . We filled up with diesel at home and chose to fill up again at Luxembourg because the fuel is very much cheaper at €1.17 per litre. It's just as well we did fill up as it was 100 miles to the next service station on the autobahn in Germany .
Temperatures reached 21C mainly sunshine and a few heavy showers. A few bikes out and about this afternoon, have to say up to now not really missing riding.
16.50hrs we arrived at our hotel in Winterrieden in Bavaria. Quite a few bikes whizzing past the hotel catching the last of the sunshine. Looking forward to arriving at our destination in the Dolomites tomorrow, it it 4 and a half hours from here.
