Any thoughts on this?

Mine isnt a heavy pig at all. And im higher psi then track level.

Are you taking into account when the tires heat up the pressure changes?

I dont think you will find the majority here running anywhere near as high as you posted in the rear

27 R/29 F is what I run on the track. I up the PSI for the street by about 2psi.

The Supercorsa SPs are very impressive on the street and make a great track tire (from beginner to expert).

I run the SC2s front and rear now. My current set has 1 A group track day and a couple thousand miles on it (some during heavy rains) and I honestly can't imagine a much better tire. They heat up rapidly, so far haven't noticeably heat cycled and have taken all the road/rain/dirt/sand abuse I've thrown at 'em.

Like every one said, it is not the tyres its the pressures and the suspension.

I had similar issues with my Base and I was thinking to my self all the time why on earth this thing is struggling to handle. I got to a point of waiting for an 899 instead thinking everything would be a lot more better.

However, few months down the line, I have managed to get an expert to set it up for me and boy oh boy the bike has changed massively, all the issues I used to have before has gone and the bike handles wonderfully. I still need to tweek the front a bit but other than that I can say I am not going to bother with an 899 now!

The rear can take the power now, the bike literally feels planted in fast corners with excellent feedback from front and rear and it does not do silly things like changing direction like a fruit fly and being unstable in fast corners and not feeling stable and planted. I am really happy with the change!

If any of you guys are having issues with their handling (on a Base) send me a PM and I will email you my settings which you can try and get back to me with feedback, would like to know if others get a similar feel. Obviously it is up to the rider and their style of riding but I would like to use their feed back to improve this setup further.

Cheers!

I think there great for the street. I got 1500 miles on mine and wear is awesome! I'll buy them again when they wear out.

I agree, great tires. I, like Antihero, am going to the SC2's. Ive already got the front :)

Had power pures on my 1198 and ran them at 30f 31r, but so far on the panigale im running the same pressures for tight & twisties. The only downside i have with them is lack of feedback with the pirelli's, leant over they feel to just let go as compared to the pures you could feel the slide. Ran both on the 1198, downside to the pures was took longer to get heat into them

Have the sc2's on now, cannot fault them. Wearing pretty quick in the twisties due to backing the tc off and happy throttle on the exits - never had so much fun

I think that the pirellis are awesome on road and good trackday tires also. The q3 are also great but I think the Pirellis sticks a bit more. On the wet the q3 is unbeatable!

q3 are very close in performance to the pirellies but the pirellies are not 50% better to justify the 50% price increase. a set of q3 are 275 enough said.

f to p for road is night and day. i live in nyc had to be done.

I often wondered prior to using the Supercorsa's on the road what they'd be like, felt they would probably be more suited to the track. I'd echo previous comments though, best tyres I've had. Used to have Corsa III on my old R1, tried Dunlops and Michellin bit always felt more comfortable with Pirelli. I think as much as anything it just comes back to which tyre/brand you feel comfortable with.

Obviously tyre pressures make a big difference, when I picked my bike up the dealer had stuck 36/42 in the tyres, similar to what other sportsbikes used to run & it was way out. Manual suggests 31/32 and I've always found that to be around right for road use.

Never rode the Q2's....loving the Q3's

+1 on the Q3's.

I don't mind the SC on the rear. But for the front the Q3 much more confidence-inspiring than the SC. Better feel/feedback.
Have a spare SC for the rear I'll be throwing on in the next few hundred miles. But I'm committed to Q3s for the front.
