I had a base V4 that I put R wheels, full exhaust and custom Ohlins. I ride the R back to back with my bike in the same configuration and the R turned better. To me that is more important that speed or torque. The R is for track use and if you plan to ride there the R is the best choice. The V4/S is better for street. More torque, no slipper clutch and it is a really great motorcycle....I spend almost every weekend at the race track so for me the better turning R. Hope that helps.
And no one is offended Ride on!
My favorite street bike I ever owned was the KTM 1290 Superduke, Race bikes it's really hard to say.. I'm really liking this new V4R, but also loved my RF and the 3 R1'S I had built...I'm not a big fan of I-4 motors, owned lots of them.
@MMC --> Plastic Bike (from Europe) makes the fairings Ducati uses for World Superstock.... See pics below.
Can you share where I can purchase this?
@TsaiCo I go to ACS only for racing with WERA. I go to Buttonwillow most often but I go to pretty much every track in CA.
@TsaiCo, for racing I have switched to Dunlop b/c of MotoAmerica BUT I prefer Pirelli and run them on all my other bikes.
I will likely switch back when the new WSBK 125/70 and 200/65 tires are readily available.
Thanks for the replies guys. I’m leaning towards trading in the S for the R and not looking back...
