It's not like the guy couldn't ride and no different to every track in which you see people riding bikes too powerful for them especially in the novice and intermediate groups.

I'm glad he built the bike and shared the experience with us and i think most readers wished they had the means to do the same.

yeah let the kid with zero experience ride the gsxr 1000 or the hayabusa on the street....or the guy with the kustom 1199 that didnt practice at all on a smaller displacement bike on the track get his bike from the builders and start promptly crashing and putting up vids showing he is way out of his league....njoy..

edit: it was great fun reading up on his progress no doubt -- i certainly did njoy it -- but to then see him destroy all that good work (with hardly any seat time) was a real bummer....and i never count other people's money and could give a ...., but people trying to push (beyond their limits) can not only hurt themselves but others as well, money notwithstanding....it's my opinion and mine only....

We are all entitled to live our own lives and to push the envelope (even if it is only ours) if we have the balls to do it. Without daring the world will be very dull indeed and we are already much too over regulated. My two cents... :cool:

Too bad when you block, replies still show the OPs comments. But you are correct, we all have the "right" to do as we choose. And sitting in front of a computer judging others based on a collection of words on the screen is a "right" as well, but not a fair or accurate way to judge someone.
 
Wow, a guy gives us a view into a badass build, and we go on for two pages talking about a different one.

Again, thanks a ton OP for sharing your build with us and I can't wait to hear your track reports.
 
Went to see the bike today before I leave UK and was gobsmacked at the quality and attention to detail MR are putting into this build. Some real special one off bits going into this and I am very grateful. Listening and learning and how the best bits of the SL and the RS have been put together is exciting to hear. Compression figure of the engine UNBELIEVABLE!

Front end has been specially built and altered including quick release front wheel - some taster pics for the meccano fanatics ! FO14 Ohlins FGR300, 6mm thick T drive discs and FO14 WSBK Brembo calipers.

I was down at Moto Rapido this week getting my full SSTK RS exhaust fitted (the same you have fitted to this) & remapped with the Superstock ecu,and I did see this thing of beauty sitting on the raised ramp. Its simply stunning in person but did make my eyes water when Wilf told me the cost of some of the parts/work on it,especially the custom wiring harness...JESUS!!!

But hats off to you,its amazing though :D

P.s. Gotta ask,where did you source the cherry coloured Titanium rear wheel nuts from?
 
^ Ha - I must admit I too am getting impatient!

The last parts are still awaited from Ducati Corse (TBH - they have been hopeless!!) by 15th Sept..... just every date they give they miss by at least two weeks....
 
A monumental day for me today - first time ever turned over and apparently VERY LOUD. All good so far. Steve has really done some magic with the ECU - combining all the good bits of the SL and super stock ECU's - some 300+ maps apparently. Not many in the world that can do that. So anyone going to him for work - make sure you give him the respect he deserves.

Off to dyno she goes.

Just awaiting short throttle, battery bracket and HEL brake lines and then she will be complete. Not long now, tick tock.

Some pics - first is weight of tank with foam, pump and cap.... not bad eh? Second is Ti pipes coloured after start, third with carbon heat protection under rear subframe.
