Hey there smart people. I have a question regarding suspension setup and getting the bike to behave.

I had my preload set at the dealership during the first service and we go the sag to appx 30 front 35 rear.
However this bike is squirrley. When carrying speed through an extended sweeper (think nc bikes sweeper) I get horrible shakiness in the bike. It feels like it is coming from the front, but I'm not sure. It isn't like a tank slapper just the entire bike feeling very unstable.

This gets to the point where I lift off my line sometimes. Also under acceleration leaving the turns the front get kind of wobbly. I assume this is just from bike squat.

Base ...or S??

Currently I believe Race mode is stock since I've been out once since setting the sag. If memory serves me correctly I only tweak sport mode that day.

Sport
fr comp: 11
fr RB: 9
Rear Comp: 12
Rear RB: 10

Race
fr comp: 18
fr RB: 12
Rear Comp: 18
Rear RB: 12

Ok...sorry for all these questions....

But...Have you noticed ant difference in feel ...handling wise between Race and Sport?? What Tyres are you running..what pressures???

No by all means ask away. Definitely a difference in handling between modes, but the wobble seems to be there still. It got slightly better in the sport mode settings (current).

Pressures are 32r 30f

After watching the videos I am thinking I may need to add some preload. I think I maxed the fork travel a couple times.

But you said sag was already set??? and good...

Yeah static and rider sag is set, but under hard riding it seems I'm maxing out fork travel.

If he is bottoming out the fork travel and the sag is already set he will need stronger springs/valves or he could try to increase just the compression dampening one step at a time.

What is your weight? I am 155lbs without gear and find the stock compression and rebound setting to be about perfect so long as the road is not too rough. I have grown to really like the suspension set stiff for the spirited driving we do in the canyons.

I first used the "P" (Progressive) setting for the rear suspension. I liked it on the rougher roads but had a problem with rear suspension squat when exiting corners hard.

It took a while for me to really appreciate the "F" (Flat) setting for the rear suspension. It is more predictable in all riding except when the roads are really rough.

I am also enjoying the flat setting in the rear and besides this one issue I love the bikes handling. As far as weight I am 193 lbs without gear so around 205 with full gear.

Try more compression dampening but at your weight you will probably need more spring in the front at least.

I am 160lbs and I changed my rear spring to Ohlins 80nm and definitely kept it in the Flat position... ...

It feels right for me,... getting suspension settings from others seems like a more of a hindrance to your main objective.. It's a very subjective and personnel experience I think.

Ok I will give that a try this week. If no improvement I will check into new springs.

PA I agree with you that the final settings are rider subjective, kinda like how I set up my plate carriers. However, something is definitely not right so I just needed some guidance. Especially since there are some very track savvy people around here.
