What rider weight is the factory setting for the Hyper 950sp.
My weight with full gear is approximately 210 pounds. Do I need to adjust preload for my weight , or is it good with factory setting?
If possible, I would like to lower or soften suspension a little more for a better foot plant at stops without sacrificing performance.

Any ideas from those who have adjusted suspension sag. I use it mostly for commuting.

There should be sag settings in the owners manual which is based on the distance of travel. I would recommend looking those up and setting your sag in full gear, I did this on my panigale and felt an immediate difference at the track. I am not sure how much difference you will feel on the road but it can't hurt to set it up for your weight. Write down the current settings so you can go back to them if you do not like the adjusted settings. MCM has a great youtube video on how to adjust your sag, the process should be the same for any bike with adjustable front and rear suspension.

Hi -- I would definitely recommend getting the suspension set up properly for you. Easiest is a professional setup, which takes roughly an hour with some chat. If you are in California then maybe the legend himself can do it for you (Dave Moss Tuning Homepage - Dave Moss Tuning). CHeck out his youtube videos to get up to speed. Just remember that the Hyper has longer travel suspension than a standard sport bike, so some of the figures you hear quoted won't apply to the Hyper.

I've just had mine done (Hyper 950 SP). The main things were less rebound damping front and also rear and more rear preload (for my weight, I'm ~230 pounds).

I made this video after I took it to a suspension expert. The difference was night and day.

HI Guys, spotted this thread so thought I would ask for some help.

I just got my pre-owned 950 sp delivered this morning from a dealer – only 1300 miles and is in amazing condition. Can’t wait to ride it in earnest.
I can see from the fork adjusters however that the previous owner has had a spanner around them. I don’t mind this, I just don’t know what they have adjusted to. The compression on the rear was also wound all the way out. Dont now why you would do that.

Does anyone know what the standard settings are for comp/rebound for front and rear? if I can get the bike back to standard, I can then work with a suspension expert to get it dialled in for me. I cant seem to find reference to factory seating anywhere.

I have asked to dealer to contact the previous owner to enquire but not heard back yet.

Would appreciate the input.

The stock settings are in the manual (did you get that with the bike?):

Front
---------
Preload - 10 turns in (clockwise) from fully out (counter-clockwise)
Rebound - 10 clicks out (counter-clockwise) from fully damped (clockwise)
Compression - 15 clicks out

Rear
-------
Preload - 8mm
Rebound - 10 clicks out
Compression - 15 clicks out

Personally I found the damping to be way overdone at stock, particularly rebound, so don't be afraid to deviate from stock.

Thanks JFK! - Ive been hunting for that info for 2 days on the internet. Even phoned the local Ducati and Ohlins dealers to try and find out.

I received the standard Hyper 950 manual that has the settings for that bike. I know from previous hypers in the UK you get an additional leaflet for the SP which covers the differences. I didn't get that leaflet...

I will put the bike back to the settings you have stated and start dialling it in from there.

Thanks again.
