Like others have said, I’m here to watch good racing where talent is the defining factor to winning races, not equipment. Even in prototype racing which isn’t an open free for all. Bikes have to adhere to all kinds of rules and why not have tires be one of them?
If you want to watch good racing where talent is the defining factor then watch the RedBull MotoGP talent cup.
Tires can adhere to rules, I'm not saying they shouldn't but that doesn't mean they should be supplied by one manufacturer... so as not to defeat the purpose of competitive development.
This sport in its general nature doesn't exist for entertainment purposes only, it's not MMA. It is founded on a technological advancement (i.e. the motorcycle, automobile) and should continue to further develop this cause for the greater good. The entertainment is merely a byproduct in my opinion.
