Parked the bike in the sun for an hour outside home
Shocked when I put it in the garage at how hot it was to the touch.
Next day Michael commented that he had touched my tank in the garage and was amazed at how hot it felt. This was several hours after it was parked in the garage.
Have to say it concerns me, combined with the heat from exhaust
Will I combust riding along!!!

Same thing happens to my head when I put in the sun for a hour .

Is that honey? WTF? lol

A melting wax figure would have been better, just sayin.

My head innards feel like they might be doing that soon I really want to feel better today .

Looked like motor oil to me, so I figured it was close enough. Or if we're feeling particularly poetic, I could state that perhaps a true motorhead perspires the stuff.

I'm more about engines than motors but who knows in 10 or 20 years lol :D

From a hot tank to a lesson in Etymology! [laughs and shakes head]

Where else can you get that in 10 posts or less? Wait, don't answer that. :)

Shouldn't be that hot after so many hours. I've noticed mine is unusually hot from time to time. Can't imagine anything is actually wrong with your bike....it's not like a component could fail and then cause your gas tank to overheat. Only danger I could see would be if your overflow vent lines are pinched. Easiest way to verify that would be to take the gas cap off when it's hot. If a bunch of air escapes, it's obstructed.
