I've done that school twice, and after what happened last year, I'm disappointed to see that they don't have just the non-school track sessions for previous school participants anymore. I was really looking forward to seeing how the 1199 did on track compared to my 2009 R1 and 2007 F4 1000R.
They probably had to make massive changes to the way they structure the course with all skill levels on the track at one time, and frankly it could get a bit hairy with 30+ riders covering the full spectrum of track/riding experience. I want to go but I'm a bit on the fence. I may email them to ask how they're going to run the school on-track before I commit.
Here is a couple videos of my R1 from the Team Hammer Daytona School a few years ago:
I saw last years crash. I had to dodge a body on the track. I almost left the minute I learned beginner through advance were on the track at the same time. I did leave after the session 2 crash...it got in my head (2 people died on the track). I am happy to see the "non-racer school" this year with passing restricted.
I am by no means a racer and just want the experience of learning to ride better and the thrill of hitting those huge Daytona banks.
Holy ...., so you were there for that? Kudos to you for going back the next year. Frankly, there are far better riding schools out there. Riding Daytona without being a racer is the real benefit of this school.
