Had the same problem with the first attempt. However RevZilla made good and replaced it. Both TechSpec and RevZilla are aware of the issue with Pani's. Must remove seat, clean with lintless prep towel and alcohol. Use a blow dryer heating both pad and tank. Heat activates the adhesive. Mine is now stuck perfectly.

I have no issue with Revzilla, I spend money with them all the time. However I didnt bother calling them on this after reading the return policy. To be honest, its been a few days and ive cooled off about it. It's 80 dollars down the drain. Meh. Maybe I will call TechSpec later on down the road. (I did get a over the moon deal on a new Dainese suit today:D)

I dont think it should be another distrubtors responsibility to take up the slack and hassle.

has happened to me 3 times already, TechSpec asked for pictures and sent em the defective parts only. this time I a, looking for a home made solution so if anyone has a good suggestion about a glue that can be used that wont damage the paint, I'd love to hear about it

It did take a combination of alcohol wipes, hair dryer, and some quick hold rubber clamps but for the most part seems to be holding fine now.

Marmoot. I tried all of that both times and nothing. I even tried using a clay bar to and wax remover then rubbing alcohol with heat dryer method and nothing. the 2 tank panels and the center tank piece came off at the edges and flapped around.

When I get my bike back from the dealer I will be putting on my stomp grips.

Yeah, stompgrip is nice and very good. Also, i never prep the surface at all with stompgrip. Just make sure it's clean. Mine still sticks like mad even after 1.5 years of almost-weekly track abuse.

I guess I am lucky. I just wiped the tank and applied tech spec 18 months ago and they still stick like new.

If I was stuck to a tricolore for 18 months I wouldn't move either lol.. Lucky.

No experience with TechSpec on Ducs, but on my 1000rr, they have been awesome.

On my s1000rr they stuck great for almost 2 years, had the right side fail and they sent me a replacement and it stuck fine.

I think they should redesign the tank pads similar to the 848/1098/1198 series where they are more "fitted" with less curves and less material.

I was looking to get a set of the tech spec pads, was wondering if the peeling issue has been fixed or resolved?

I just tried the tech spec and had the same results with them falling off immediately. TS asked for pictures and a sent a new set.

I am hesitant to try but, imagine they would hold using a spray glue like Super 77. Just wonder about long term durability then.

Thanks for the update...

I've run TechSpec Snake Skin and C3 on my Pani for years. I've never had an issue with it peeling - from the corners or from anywhere else for that matter. It just stays put for me.

The only prep I did was making sure that the surface was perfectly clean and free from any wax, dirt, dust, etc.

And when it comes time to replace the grips, the adhesive comes off the fairings clean - leaving no residue or stickiness behind. I feel like the old pieces I remove have enough adhesive and stickiness to go back on the bike as well.

The exterior surface does lose its tackiness and grip over time.

Just installed these on my Pani, and they are NOT sticking, and i hate it cause i really like the look of them. SMDH. I guess i will call them. I just contacted the dealer i purchased them from and sent pics... (Lets see what will happen)
