Okay, you guys bear with me for one second. Hear me out on this:
Ducati makes a brand new bike. It has a brand new motor never seen on a road going machine. Yet it looks a lot like the old bike (except maybe a touch not as beautiful). You have a choice: put on something that looks more or less like the old exhaust from the old bike or a highly functional, heavily industrial set up that is akin only to the GP7 Desmosedici exhaust or an actual MotoGP exhaust.
Look, I don't have leg to stand on here as I passed on a Speciale but if I did have a V4 on order, this is the exhaust I would be doing. No doubt in my mind. It's the only exhaust I've seen that seems like its truly designed and destined for an entirely new power unit.
Furthermore, in time, I think that this is the style of exhaust for this motor that's going to become legendary, much like the under tail exhaust was on the 916 when that came out.
EDIT: I do think that when they finally make a production version for the street bike, the tail section part will be a touch shorter you that you can see the tail lights better. I suspect that this is a race version they slapped on a road bike for ooh's and ah's.
