Anyone have a PDF for the Install of a Full (rear exit/old style) Termi exhaust for the 1199?

Also, what can I expect if I do the install myself and then ride to the dealer to have the upmap installed? Won't go into limp mode, will it?

Will be getting new gaskets and manifold nuts. Any other parts I should consider?

I know the install is supposed to be a pain in the ..., so any advice would be helpful from those who've done it.

You can install the upmap yourself. The dongle plugs in to the port under the rear cowl. Like a 15 second job. Even if you chose to not install the upmap, you'd be fine. No codes, no problems with running. Only the 1299 bikes require dealer to install upmap.

Far as install goes, it's pretty straightforward but time consuming. Expect about 4-6 hours without rushin through it. Less if you do rush. The front header top nut is the most difficult to access but with patience, you can remove oem exhaust and install full system without removing a single thing off the bike besides the side fairings.

Good luck.

Get yourself some good quality 1/4" drive sockets, universal joints and various extensions. Pretty straight forward and a fun project, but def time consuming. Take your time and enjoy.

Up-map install is no problem.

Thanks, guys. What's the process of installing upmap? Install upmap key into dongle, then turn on ignition?

Still lookin' for a PDF, so if anyone has that, lemme know.

Did your system come with the install manual? I remember there being specific steps and it is a handy doc to hold on to.

But yes, in principal: up-map plugs into dongle, key on, bike sees it and uploads, key off, remove upmap from dongle and good to go. I think. Something like that.

Still waiting for the system. It's used, though, so I doubt the manual will come with.

I installed the system myself using nothing more than these instructions. Most of the time was spent being dumbfounded by the amount of things that need to be removed just to get something else off and wondering do I really have to do it that way... In short, yes, yes you do.

The instructions do not cover the band aids and beers that will be needed to complete the install though. :D

Also, the upmap needs an acknowledgement from you to complete. I believe its just a press of the indicator cancel button when its completed (going off memory on that).
