Who do we directly complain to regarding the hopeless uploading of images to the site? I've stopped uploading because it's too difficult and I'm reluctant to hand my images over to an image hosting service.

What do you think about all this?
Should we be able to have our images auto resized and swiftly uploaded?

I for one am not interested in having loads of accounts for anything and everything. My email, Ebay etc. is even trying to get my cell phone number now as apparently it makes me more secure. Starting to p#ss me off

Get an Imgur account. Couldn't be easier.

Most forums are the same.

What I said in my post was:
"I'm reluctant to hand my images over to an image hosting service."

Because when Imgur goes down the toilet or changes it's policies the site will be full of question marks or ads for you to sign up.

I have to place my images with a hosting service so that I can post easily?
.... off

Don't like it? Code your own forum, host it on your servers and invite your friends.

I have all my images, that I need to reference on the various forums I partake in, hosted on Photobucket.

All those images also reside on my laptop. If Photobucket goes belly-up I really don't care.

Oh you have your images stored on your computer as well, that's a good idea
Backup on an external HD as well? Now that's ground breaking.

I completely agree with the OP, this is the only forum I use that is still stuck in the year 2000 when it comes to images! I just don't have the time to faff around hosting images on other sites like photo bucket. It makes a big difference to the amount I post as most stuff I do is photos rather than text.

Maybe they could look at the UK forum as whatever software they use, it's supremely easy to use and allows for full size images. Here's an example of a thread I created on there. Took all of a couple of mins to upload all the pics directly into the relevant posts. No third party hosting required.

Seems to have a lot of ads on that forum
Good post by the way
That exhaust looks great
Are you going to buy it?

I agree with the OP as well. The Aprilia forum load nice full size photos with ease. Is this just a server storage issue with this forum?

The ads are the only irritating thing on the UK forum. They disappear if you pay the small membership fee, and you get a free Halfords card which pays for your forum fee many times over if you buy tools and things from Halfords which most do in the UK.

Depends. Waiting on Redline to come back with more info, namely proper Db figures, whether or not they wil include DB killers and some dyno results. Oh and a possible redesign of the bellypan.

You kidding !....You should see all the scripts this site is running in the background. Trust me, they are making enough off them to host pictures at the proper size. Add "No Script" to your firefox browser and see how many things are loading on this page.

Yes Admin, I am talking to you. The pic hosting is bull$hit.

I'm literally sitting here typing a memo on changing spark plugs and a way I just discovered to cut the time in half and i took pics to help people and I am losing my mind trying to reduce the size again and again, and then FLIP the pic to the right angle cause the bull$hit code written for this page cant autodetect it.

Seriously ! 97kb photos ??? The iPhone 3 had bigger pictures when it couldnt even host them and people had to log into AT&T to see them. That was 2008.

NOLA.

What if ANYTHING is being done to address the whole image uploading issue. Come on admins, as much as I like this forum it's still woefully lacking in many ways. Pretty much every other forum allows direct uploads into a thread, yet here we are with the ridiculous 97kb jpeg file size restriction. Everyone else has moved on. Why not this forum? Yes I KNOW you can use an Imgur account but most other forums do NOT require third party hosting so what's the problem. If the current software platform does not support it then maybe it's time to move on to a forum software platform that does. It's been an issue for so long now and never used to be this bad so let's hope the admins can demand more bang for their buck. I know it's an almost thankless task moderating and maintaining a forum but in this day and age you really ought to be getting a better service than this.

Unforunatly if the admins wont do anything, then we need to find a new forum which hosts pictures. Speak with your feet....(which no one will)

the 899 forum when belly up due to the admin making a new site for 959, then expecting all sponsors and what not to pay twice for the same thing in 2 different locations. 899 forums is dead, and the 959 forum is just repeats of stuff thats already been well covered on 899 forum.

Photobucket thing really screwd things up (I had a thread dating from 2005 on another forum full of pictures about a number of "how to" mods i did on one of my cars. now thread is useless without pictures.

I remember when this forum used to be ducatisuperbikes.com many moons ago. Seems as if the spark has long since gone out which is a great shame. It's not that I don't think the admins are not doing their bit to keep things afloat, more that the software they are paying for and working with is not fit for purpose given what the competition offers subscribers/members.

Maybe we should migrate to the UK forum completely, a lot of us are on it and when I feel the need to post an image it's where I go! I don't want to have an aftermarket host handle my images.

Duc is the only admin. He's probably the only one who has control over all this and he only surfaces to either do site maintenance or upload photos of new model bikes. Nothing else. I don't understand how things took a step backwards when this photo BS was never an issue before. I don't bother attempting to upload any photos ever since turdbucket took a crap n changed their ways to make a buck. .... it. No more photos.

I gave up on posting photos here from my phone as I can't shrink them. I just post them on the ninja forum instead lol
