yes, Ducati has improved the torque from the 1199. Maybe it's me, but I sense a power dropoff in the 5000-ish range - it's decently strong enough below that and it's all warp speed above. I've discovered two things - in highway cruise the bike seems happiest in this dead zone, and if I want any semblance of instant power, I must avoid this zone like the plague.

My guess is that this is a fuel map quirk to pass emissions/sound regulations...?

Has anyone A: noticed the same thing and B: found it to disappear through fuel remapping and/or aftermarket exhaust system?

Can't say that I've noticed it to be honest, will try and pay attention on the way home. I've got the Akra slip-ons fitted, not sure if that makes a difference?

I never really noticed much before. It was only after remapping on a dyno with TB software that I noticed a big improvement. Search my posts. I put a big review about it sometime in about February. Flattenned the torque curve from 5000 and removed the dip completely.

My 1199 was the same and it disappeared when I had my ECU race mapped and fitted a PCV with autotune.

Could be a tuned lean area for cruising speeds though.. I know I did that when tuning my old car, just to get a better mileage and it worked..

Akrapovic evolution exhaust and Rapid Bike race module almost transformed that trough into a crest on my 1199.

yeah, going RB when they release a kit for the 1299.. I don't have the opportunity to do maps at the moment

I have noticed this as well as when you roll on the throttle away from a stop the revs pick up and then they seem to drop (ie eletronically curtailed), almost like traction control kicks in..... it is very odd
