This is how you unveil an engine......

Can you imagine how incredible that prototype is to ride? Wowza...sounds incredible and it's in a beautiful chassis.

It's got me looking at the triumph website, put it that way........

It looks like they just threw their 765 Moto2 engine into a modified 675 chassis...

I had a mooch around a last model 675R on Friday on purpose. That 'prototype' chassis is defo a Daytona/street triple mainframe and swingarm. The subframe is new. It also seems to have a seems to bizarrely have the front end from a non R Daytona. However it's running Hel lines and Ktech internals. With a Ktech shock. It seems triumph are keeping at British as possible. That grid is going to sound awesome in 2019

I'm hoping for it to filter down to the likes of us mere mortals by 2020 and Triumph grace us with a new Daytona

It's potentially a great move for Triumph. The Daytona engines are well know in racing circles for blowing up after taking a tumble so if they have done the required development to make them good enough to pass the stringent requirements for Moto2 then any future Daytona, which is surely inevitable once they have shown to be successful engines in Moto2, is sure to be an awesome machine.

I hope they do. If they do make an 765 Daytona it will sell very well I think. Somewhere between 130-140 RWHP in that chassis with either Swedish Gold or British Black Gold, set of M50 or their replacement anchors and you will have THEE perfect bike!

My 675 is a demon on the track with 118 RWHP. Another 20 and I won't have to work so hard to dispatch those bloody clitoris R1s that sod off on the straight, then get in the way in the corners! It would be the nemesis of everyone on trackday!
