It was inevitable really, that a company would end up producing this!

Price is not too bad, but I don't know who actually makes it (possibly CDT) but they have no listing for it on their website and so can't attest to the quality of it, though I can easily confirm with CDT, if it's theirs or not. Anyhow here is the link to it's distributors site.

FullSix Ducati Panigale Carbon Fibre Monocoque Subframe 100% Carbon ? Conquest Carbon

Looks great but...
... that's like $2000 Canadian dollars, then another $200+ for shipping and duties/ taxes...
This would be a $2300- $2500 Canadian bill at the end of the day..

It's inexpensive in comparison to a genuine Ducati one for a Superleggera. I dread to think how much that would be. $4000, maybe 5?

Yeah I can see myself drunk on eBay buying something like that…lol. Would love to know the weight difference.

Hmm, I wonder if Kope will buy one of these! :)

I'm guessing you'll need some additional hardware as well as the subframe, as clearly the mounting points for the tail section, light etc will be different to a stock subframe, which means you'll probably need to factor in more expense if you want one of these. Gulp!

Only $1800 delivered to the US. I am sure it takes off 4 or 5 ounces! A lithium battery is way more worth the savings. But if you already have one then.....

Mag/carbon wheels even more so.....

But this is the whole tailpiece, and is pretty ugly unless you want an all carbon bike. I think the other one is just the actual frame.

It would have to have paint, but one piece all carbon tail which lowers Cg. significantly should be interesting to track rats and CF junkies.

I think now, if you start with a base Pani, you can almost get it to SL weight and that is cool! Resale be dammed!

Exactly, with mag wheels, an Akra, and a lithium battery, you are really, really close!

Except,....

Something no one seems to have pointed out. As a CF subframe it would help to mitigate any heat issues from the exhaust manifold below it.
I know that the only times I've had issues with heat has been from the subframe getting extremely hot right where it joins the motor and seat.

I don't believe the heat comes so much from the pipe as from the head your nuts are resting on....but that's just me. The CF subframe should transfer less heat than the cast aluminum bit currently issued on Pani, though.

My two cents....

The pic on the website looks like they just photoshopped it right off of the Superleggera

That's 11lb weight reduction according to them. Good way to blow money.

Removes 11 lbs, cost 1800 bucks, that's 163 bucks a pound for lightening, that would be considered almost free by racing standards. Especially stating with something as light as the Panigale. It seems like 1000 dollars a pound is more common once you get to a certain point, and then it becomes insane at the F1, Moto GP, Top Fuel level.

Ok confirmed today. The subframe is by CDT. Not on their website yet. Also that they are re-branding themselves as "Full Six CDT". The sixth element on the periodic table being carbon. They have a lot of new parts coming for the Panigale apparently.

I agree. My only concern would be, how do you think the carbon would hold up over time with it getting hot and cold and hot and cold? Is it possible that it might become brittle? Just a thought I guess. None the less it is a very cool piece and I wouldn't mind buying one.
