Throttle Balancing

The 1199's fuel pressure regulator is incorporated into the fuel pump and concealed in the fuel tank.

Ok, I read the other posts. It's looks to be an electrical issue, but I had never heard of MAP sensor calibration. Does anyone know more about this function? Good luck on Friday.

MelcoDiag does offer a MAP calibration feature under the "Resets" tab. It likely reconciles the pressure values returned to the ECU from each MAP sensor at 0V (or close to 0V) and at 5V (or close to 5V), thereby establishing a reference point/baseline for the ECU to make fueling calculations at a given BARO pressure. JP might be able to provide more insight with regards to the MAP calibration feature. Additionally, MelcoDiag also has a field under the "Passive Tests" tab where a comparison between the vertical and horizontal MAP levels can be observed. I haven't tried it yet, but it's there.

Bike has just been retuned and there was a lot more changes required than we thought. So now it runs the way it always should have and I can focus on cornering without worrying about the stuttering throughout the corner.

We checked the reading of the vacuum on the ECU and they are equal. I'm not sure what the actual voltage drop was, but the bike wanted to dump a lot more fuel in the vertical.

The test was extremely easy and cleaning was a few squirts if contact cleaner, a scrub with a bristle type tooth glosser/pick and then a couple more squirts. Zero cost, but apparently something dealers don't check.

Is it straight now, or is it still dumping an disproportionate amount of fuel into the vertical cylinder? No two cylinders on any multi-cylinder vehicle are identical, but a large disparity would raise an eyebrow.

Riding is heaps smoother and fuel economy is up from 125km/tank to about 185km/tank.

I think though that the tuner might have been fighting the reaction control though as the rear wheel speed indicator wasn't disconnected and the settings weren't turned off. I don't recall seeing the traction light flashing on, but can't see how it wouldn't have been working.
