Same exact pair front and rear. 1750 street only miles. Mostly twisties. Centers were still good, sides completly shot in the rear, 80%+ front.
Cost $520 installed at Wheelers in Robbinsville, NC.

I switched to the Michelin CUP/Ones which I'm sure you've been posted in a couple of threads. I did notice the traction control thought they were slipping a little on hard accel out of corners, but I just dialed back the DTC to 1. Fixed it for when I was riding, if not I was going to just turn it off. Much better than the SC's

Very difficult to beat Pirelli, and since they set the bike up with these tires I am sure you had some tuning to do with the Michelins? They have a higher profile I believe, but then again its been a long time since I used their stuff. Which are their top of line now? Pure?

Cups are their top of the line dot race tire. And it's pretty easy to beat them, they are better tires period. They feel natural to me because I'm used to them, all I did was lower the tc setting.

Gotta love how we can just change those traction control settings. Lurking in the S1000RR forums I have learned that is one of their major complaints with the engine maps ( slick, race, sport, rain)- they can't change settings with in a map, they can only change between them.

How the crap did you get the stock supercorsa's from Wheelers? I've asked multiple times and he always said he can't get them.

I went in there about 2 days before I needed them to chat. I inquired about them. They showed me they had one set in stock and was ready. I said I'd be back in a couple of days to get it done. Turns out I was ready one day later. Dropped bike off at 4 PM on and picked back up at 6 PM. Had some good conversation with Wheeler about minibike racing while I was there. Great guy.

They ordered another set while I was there the first time to ensure they would have them for the next RSV4 or 1199 that came in the door. He mentioned he sold more than 1000 tires last year. Pretty good for a small shop.

Price was cheaper than the dealer. Overall pricey, but good price considering.

OEM rear went 2500. Was going on a trip and replaced the front and rear with non-OEM Supercorsa SPs in stock sizes. OEM front looks like it might last another 1000. New non-OEM front was done after 1500 miles of aggressive street riding. It had been mounted backwards by a local dealer. First time I've ever worn a front out faster than a rear. Wonder whether being mounted backwards had anything to do with it. Rear went 2200 before it got a puncture. Probably would have made 2400 miles. Non-OEMs worked fine, although I did notice that after the front was changed without the changing the rear, the traction control seemed to think there was loss of traction in tight low speed turns. I assume this reflects how sensitive the traction control is to differences in profile (new front with worn rear).

The dealer said the OEM and non-OEM Supercorsas are different in terms of profile and compound.

BTW, I tried to buy a Supercorsa front from Wheelers last week and when I called they said they didn't have them and they coudn't get them. Some friends of mine who went there to meet me said that when they asked, Wheelers said they had them and they say they saw them at Wheelers. I didn't go to Wheelers, after they said they didn't have them and ended up getting a non-OEM front at Rider's Hill in Dahlonega. NPR couldn't answer the question when I asked whether they had OEM Supercorsas or non-OEM Supercorsas.

His tire install has always been higher than the rest, but for a good reason...he's the only one around to do it.
However when it comes to anything else, his pricing and help is top notch. He's always been my suspension guy for the last ten years. The only bike he had a hard time with was my stock 1098. The front springs were too soft for me.
Otherwise he is definitely a great guy to visit and give business to incase anyone is looking for anything done while at the Gap.
