Soon changing my oil and had a brain fart and put in 4 acts instead of 3.5 will I have too much pressure or am I ok?

Check the oil window. If its above the max line take a bit out.

Every dealer that's ever changed my oil has overfilled it, making me suspect that perhaps they know something the rest of us don't?

one of the easiest ways to get excess oil out I learned from someone here. Take off the oil filler cap. Get one of those spray bottles, they sell at lowes and other places, take the sprayer out of the bottle, stick the long thin tube down into the crankcase (it has to be pretty narrow diameter to get into the reservoir area. And just actuate the sprayer into a a can or whatever until the proper amount is out.

Really easy.

That's a good idea Chris. I used the clear tubing method where you take a piece that is a decent length (you can use the brake bleeder size) and stick it down into the crankcase and then suck on the other end until it fills near the top. Then remove your mouth and seal the end with a finger and lift it over to a drain pan and release. Kinda like kids doing the same thing with a straw in their drink. :)

Much better ideas than mine. I would have just unscrewed the drain bolt for a millisecond :D

I had clearly put too much in. When I loosened the drain plug it slipped out of my hand and even after struggling to find the hole (insert dirty joke) I still wasn't down to the max line. All better now though. On a positive note. All the oil that drained was coffee so now it should be clean clean oil.

That's why I didn't try the drain plug for a millisecond idea. I have dropped so many drain plugs over the years that I didn't trust myself.

Ahhh, you see I always put the PERFECT amount of oil in so I've never had to try my poor idea :p

Ha, I did this one time before, invariably I dropped the plug into the oil pan, finger on the hole and fish around to find the plug, not an elegant way at all! :D

Did you do the oil change at Starbucks???? LOL

The oil that drained was all dark. I had just poured the new good stuff it shouldn't be dark immediatly. That leads me to assume I drained the rest of the spent oil.
