Getting ready for my first track day... I already have mirror blanks on the way, will disconnect & tape the lights.

Where does one go to get number decals? Is there anything for our specific bikes?

My n00b track skills should provide ample entertainment; I don't need janky crooked, wrinkled, bubbling vinyl numbers half way falling off my bike to add to the list.

You can just stop by Home Depot and get some basic vinyl numbers... that's what I did. Down the road you get something more professional if you choose to.

Does the track org require everyone to have numbers? Unless they specifiy, you don't need them unless you're club racing.

It's easier to pull the fuse for the headlights and painters tape for the tails to avoid the warning light in the dash.

Why do you need numbers for a track day?

Because they will improve my lap times by 21.7%. A guy with a civic told me that secret. It's why he has the big ... H symbol in vinyl on his hood and a 4' spoiler.

Or they require it for this particular event.

Thanks for the helpful reply.

Sport Bike Track time didn't make me put a number on her. Probably because no one else had a V4 at the track. I used clear vinyl tape on the upper fairings for the group sticker and number if the organizer requires a number. Much easier to remove the stickers later. I disconnected the tail light and frog taped the headlight. The ! on the dash wasn't a big deal. It reset itself once I re-connected the tail light.
