She does well. She's high pack intermediate rider. Really working on her BP now she's gotta get those shoulders and head down lol
Haha it's her spare too! Now riding an avg.

I just put on a set of the Supercorse SC2 tires on my "R"! We went out on a short canyon run close to my home yesterday to scrub them in and to put the first heat cycle through them.

They felt amazing from the second I left! In the corners I was amazed at the feel in the front and back. They grip so much better then the SP tires that I just replaced them with.

We are going to Palomar today. I will have a better evaluation on them after today when we get back from gumming them up real good.

I can tell you my experience... My absolute favorite track tire by a long way, is the Pirelli Superbike slick.. Not the Pro. The feel and confidence I get from it is heads an shoulders above any other tire I have tried, including the Hideously expensive Dulop UK NTEC slicks and the U.S. VERSION OF THE NTECS.

My only issue with the Pirellis, is that they just disintegrated on my BMW S1000RR at Thunderhill raceway in temperatures above 95 degrees. Turn 2 at Thunderhill was the culprit. The combination of the BMW and the SC2 compound tires left me with a destroyed left side... All the other BMW S1000RR riders had the exact same problem, no matter wahat suspension they were running, or what settings they had. We had Dave Moss work all weekend on the issue on all our bikes and we never resolved the issue, so I went to NTECs and the problem went away.

Having said all that, they are still the best tires I have ever used and I am hoping that on the 1299, I can avoid the issue on hotter days and go back to the Pirelli.

Cheers.

My Rear will not last a day at Phillip Island . I suggest a SC0 on hot days and run it around 23 PSi hot .

The majority of the year, Thunderhill is well over 100 degrees in the shade and I have run there in 110 degrees and the Pirelli lasts about 5 laps in those conditions... At Laguna Seca, Sears Point/Sonoma Raceway, Willow Springs and Buttonwillow, the Pirelli is stellar, it's just Thunderhill that's the problem, be its something we all know about and can plan around.

Cheers.

^^ Turn 2 is one long left hander... I could see why it could eat some tires. ^^
i freaking LOVE turn 2, it lets you work on body position, throttle control, lean angle, entry speed, exit drive... Probably the most useful training corner on any track I race at.. Some track days, I will spend the whole lap just setting up for turn 2 and working on one specific skill.

Cheers.

AGREE!!!Hated them last year, could not get them off fast enough..

I detect an emerging consensus. ;)
If you are pushing your OEM Pirelli or Dunlop Q3 rubber on track days, forgo the Pirelli Supbike PRO Slicks and go with a proper track/race tire like the Pirelli Superbike Slicks or equivalent.
Thanks everyone.

Great stuff on tires guys and thanks for all the info but can you shed some light on tire warmers? What are the good brands and what do you look for in a tire warmer? Do you need dual temp or is the single temp good enough? Thanks in advance for the info!

What no comments on warmers? Maybe I need to search again for a tire warmer thread?

I like this brand of warmer .

Always buy a decent quality warmer last thing you want is being at the track and having a dud warmer . I always carry two sets just in case .
I have one set that are a digital pair and one that are a single temp I am happy using either .

Have been using woodcraft warmers for ~5 years with no issues. Considering either their new gen III model or Capit's maxima spina warmers for this season. Single temp is just fine IMO... The most important thing is diligence on "hot off the warmer" pressures... I check before every session.

Thanks Wilks & B for the warmer input. The dual temps and digital look nice but wasn't sure if I really need the extra adjustment for just beginning with slicks and warmers. I want good quality reliable stuff but don't want to over complicate the operation since I still have plenty to learn about tires and temps.
