Tuneboy and oil service light again.

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Ok after some deep research i am going to stay away from this Tuneboy:

1. It voids your warranty
2. It's unreliable

I will probably do it to one of my bikes after the warranty has expired.

1. You can revert to your OEM map anytime you want.

2. I have a TB custom map and it is reliable. CC works great.

I think you would find that Wayne could probably cure your stalling problem if it is a fuelling issue. He really has a great knowledge of how these bikes are tuned. I would suggest chatting to him about it.

It's very expensive in Aus but if they can't fix my bikes i will have to get a Tuneboy with 2 licenses to flash my bikes maybe that will help fix the problem with engine shutting down when using clutch to downshift or while idling at traffic lights.

Hi mate,
This question has been a pain in my side for years. The reset component of the software will only work if you have a TB map loaded. Cruise control doesn't count. Took years and many many email to Wayne to finally acknowledge this.

Ahhh that sucks. I have an RB module so I really don't need the tune, but I thought I could get the cruise control and service light. But if the cruise map is not reset-able then I'm really not getting what I want.

(apologies for the thread revival)

I just found out recently that the "reset desmo" resets the oil service light.

Cheers

That issue is IMU and quick shifter are faulty

You have to have a TB tune loaded first, it cannot be the stock tune. First hook up the TB box to the bike data connector, then to your USB port. Turn the key on and start TB trim program and go click the Service light reset from the menu. It should turn off if the bike is compatible. It works on my 1199. Turn off the key and disconnect the TB box. You can also re load the stock tune and the light will still be reset.

Hi fella

I have 1199S with TB and QS .

The oil service light i have is the green oil can icon that show the miles till service, this disappears after about 5 secs - is this what the TB resets ??

I've just had the bike serviced and dealer forgot to reset ..

I think i have answered my own question !!
I suppose when this counts down and THEN shows the permanent service light - Service warning (SERVICE) i can reset it via the TB function..

OIL SERVICE zero indication
The first maintenance indication is OIL SERVICE
zero, enabled when the odometer counter reaches
the first 1000 km (600 miles).
The indication is enabled upon every Key-On for 5
seconds in the "large" format, and then is always
visible in the small format, until the Ducati Authorised
Service Centre "resets" it during servicing

i just reset my oil service light on my 15 Panigale R, hook up the TB module open up trim file go to tools and click on desmo reset, all done, oil reset doesn't work ,thanks cosmik de Bris, you are more help than Tuneboy.

Melcodiag won’t work for me anymore on the latest ducati update through dds.

Tried resetting the dash pin and wouldn’t work (yes I do know it)

Also can’t find any faults yet I know it should pick up no flapper motor as it did before the update.

i had tuneboy for 2 more than 2 years, on my 2015 1299S
Oil reset or desmo reset worked the first time i did my oil reset. Service light came to be 9999 miles.

After 10000 miles, now it doesnt work anymore. Emailed Wayne and he said it doesnt support 1299.

Anyone had better luck than me?

  • Remove Tuneboy

  • Use anything other than TB (Woolich, RB, etc etc )
