tuneboy special offer - ends dec. 1st

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Thanks for the heads-up Phil. I haven't followed the TuneBoy threads, but I know that a lot of people swear by them.

You're probably up on all of this, so bottom line for me is, does this void warranty or is it something I can re-flash to stock if I encounter a problem and it not be detectable?

Thanks in advance.

i have it, it's no problem to reset it to the stock map.

i also have the cruise control option, i tell you, it rocks!!! on long trips it is very relaxing, as you can take both hands off the bars , sit upright and hang in the wind.

I'm thinking about getting one of these, but I haven't been able to find any maps as starting points for the 1199. Anyone know if these are posted anywhere? Would be interested in one for stock (for the meantime) and one for the akrapovic exhaust.

check the akrapovic thread. wayne (wcmdonal) promised to share the akra map.
the standard tunebouy unit comes with the latest (V3) map.

to get the most out of it, getting the Wideband kit seems to be the way to go.

i am also still looking for a full map.

Thanks for the heads up Phil. Are you happy with the improvements if any, is the low to mid range any better ? any of the missing torque found. Thanks mate.

to be honest?

the low range torque is kick ...!!! I am not the one putting up comparisons (with established manufacturers), just check my link in the sig and find the exhaust mod thread. there you will find a power curve with the TB.

Phil, I have the TuneBoy with cruise, and was wondering what the V3 program from Wayne is? I have a full Termi, and MWR air filter. Since I purchased the full headers off an R model, I never received the correct applicable usb key (the R model key won't work with the S models). Does the "V3" apply towards my needs for a full Termi base program? I am using the Tricolore-supplied usb slip-on key with Wayne's trim program for the full Termi. Thanks in advance.

ask wayne.

i have less clue than it seems and i don't want to BS anyone ;)

sorry

Phil - has anyone done a step-by-step install post? Including putting it back? I was an original adopter, and had all kinds of issues from unmarked or empty CDs, not knowing which program and map to download, etc.

I can do that. Tomorrow night.

That's the only real snag with Tuneboy. IMO the software is great, Cruise Control, kill time adjust for DQS, service reset etc are excellent.

There are 2 areas where they fall down.
1) Website isn't up to date so you have no idea if you are using the latest software.
2) The lack of available trim files for different configurations.

I purchased back in June, was told that a trim map for Termi slip ons was a week away, still waiting. In fairness I think TB probably just have less resources than Dynojet, I'm sure they'll get around to it. You could take it to a tuning centre and get one created specifically for your bike, the difficulty is finding a reputable tuning centre, nearby, who are familiar with TB.

I can do that. Tomorrow night.

I am worried about installing my Akra until I have my Tuneboy installed and working. It sounds like the Akra runs pretty poorly w/o any tuning. And I am worried about installing the Tuneboy until I am certain I can easily revert to stock, as my warranty is in place until May.

Phil, unfortunately getting a reply back from Wayne can be problematic. My email from 7 weeks ago, as well as my email from 4 weeks ago, have both gone unanswered.

This is such a shame.....Wayne/TB does a great service for the Ducati community in offering the tunes/add ons that he does... and then drops the ball on customer service.... :(

+1

i know.

though, my activation code came in right away, other stuff has been left unanswered...

i'd like to have a "full map" as well.

we had an earlier thread, where the option for a noise reduction mode was in discussion, basically closing the exhaust valve in wet mode below 25 mph...

no progress here...

Thanks Phil. I have kept an eye on that thread, wasn't trying to put you on the spot with any manufacturers, just asking about your experiences with Tuneboy, I'm particularly interested in improving the low to mid range and wanted to see how you were getting on in that area. ;)

understood, thanks!
thing is, i can only validate my statement in conjunction with my modded exhaust. i have no idea how the TB works on the stock exhaust. and regarding this i didn't want to compare my mod and its benefits with established manufacturers.
