Update on the salty bike

Found this this morning. You bet the salty water is inside. Well, its outside now. Leaking slowly. House insur people told me not to touch anything till they see it.









 
Good luck with the insurance! BTW, used to love going to the island via the ferry with grandparents (from Forest Hills) back in the day... Very sad all around there.
 
Salt water is nasty stuff. I learned in the Marines how quickly salt water can wreck equipment even with constant preventative maintenance. Painful to see these pictures and I hope your home insurance covers it.
 
Really bad stuff and here is hoping that some form of insurance comes through for you....keep your head up!
 
I dont get it? How did this happen? You washed you bike and the water in your place is salty?

Yes he washed it with sea water.... Left it submerged on purpose in 4 feet of water for a couple days. :rolleyes:

when they say magnesium corrode i never imagine this would happen. guess ill never get mag rims
 
Sorry for your troubles here.

Incredible to see so much corrosion in such a short period of time.
