Greeting all,
After picking up my first Ducati back in 2014, I am finally creating a profile on this forum, even though I have been reading and gaining info from all of you for a few years. Thank you for having me.
In 2014, I purchased a pre owned 2012 1199s from a private seller in order to replace my stolen S1000rr. I enjoyed my first Panigale for three years, lots of happy smiles and miles, until my unfortunate accident a month ago. My first off, hopefully my last.
Now, I have a 2015 1299s that I got a great deal on from another private seller, this time from out of state. Because this was an out of state purchase, my replacement bike had to be shipped from Tennessee to New York. Well, looks like I picked the WRONG shipping company. This flawless, low mileage, barely used 1299 was damaged while in transport. The claim process through the shipping company has been extremely frustrating and painful.
If any of you plan on shipping your bike, I implore you stay away from the broker "Premier Motorcycle Transport" and do NOT use "STI" to ship your bike! Terrible customer service once the financial transaction is complete and total disregard to the damages and devalue my bike has suffered because of their incompetence.
Now, I am working towards payment for the repairs and has become a very difficult and timely process, when I was hoping to get my new bike on the road over a week ago now.
Thanks again, for all of the knowledge and experience shared on this forum. I will be more active now that I am on my second Panigale.
Just a couple of initial questions for you guys...
- Can the bodywork/fairings from an 1199 fit on a 1299?
- Any of you willing to share your experience with those block off mirror caps that also work as front turn signals? (forgot who made those when I saw them on Youtube)
