. What would a V2 R bring if it were in the works? I know it’s not in accordance with the typical lineup ...
But couldnt we just imagine something better than a V2 Corse model? And when would that come out? Next year probably (This Fall) you think?

I personally don't think so. I think it's capped at the corse level. Anything beyond that is getting into the v4 price range n that overlapping in price would ultimately push the teetering folks into the v4 since i don't think there's enough demand for a v2r. V2r would be north of 25k anyway. The v2 is great where it's at.

I get the price overlap, but why shouldn’t a V2
“Speciale” be made ? Even if it overlaps a V4, or V4s even. If it’s fully dressed out, capable and stunning to look at, people will buy it, in my opinion. As DucatiKev just said, A V4 Superleggera!!!! Make it the same as a V4S price point. I think some people would have a hard decision to make.

Ok here's my serious thoughts for a new V2 version coming out for next year. They just released the 916 25 aniversario and who remembers what came out the very next year in yellow? The 748! If Ducati likes anniversaries the V2 is the little bro to the V4 so it makes sense this will be the next V2. I want a yellow V2 with 916 livery, FGRT Ohlins, w/TTX rear, nickle Brembos+T drive rotors, gold Marchies and a full system.
You hearin' me Italian Santa?! 748! Coming up!

with the 955cc engine? Nooo give me a 1285+cc unruly big twin not that little 959 engine

maybe they could even take all the tech devolvement to make the old 1285cc even more powerful and refined

they’re gonna have something supreme in the pipeline for 2026!

There could be an Corse model of the V2 or maybe a special model just with some overprice paintwork and a few catalogue parts.
Dont think there is much hope of future development of top end V-twin superbike models anymore.

SAD.

Next step is smaller displacement turbocharged engines and then finally all electric... I’ll still be riding around on my 1299 at that point.. unless our excessive collective pollution and intervention tests earths life support systems apart

I mean, myself and a number of others would love to see a 500cc 2 stroke road bike again.......
There still is a number of things that can come in road bikes, direct injection, seamless gearboxes, DVT, and of course superchargers.

thts so funny, that’s the reason I get weird abt selling / trading my bikes (and other stuff) in for “the new one.” Not that it’s as extreme as your 2 cycle example but, my 2014 Daytona 675 seems to be the last of an era, and my 1299 is in line for the same thing. It’s kinda heartbreaking, Like boosted boards going belly up, but new tech is very exciting. We’re beginning to see cars with pneumatic valves(infinitely variable timing/duration) and 2 exhaust pipes per cylinder to run a twin turbo setup. this .... is so genius it’s probably borderline insane

I mentioned electric cycles above but imo It’ll never get there while we’re still trying to store energy in batteries. Vehicles will need to generate their own by that point, but I like my bikes extra loud so the cops try n chase me. I couldn’t imagine riding in

lastly, the new Stihl products use 4 cycle engines complete with valves and timing system. They still use mixed fuel with no onboard engine oil but since they’re 4 stroke they’re cleaner for CARB. They’re quite powerful too
