Slightly off topic and quite possibly a very noob question but does anyone know what the nipple beside the fluid reservoir inlet is used for?
View attachment 47890

Is it an option to mount the pressure line as seen on Pecco’s bike or am I seeing it wrong?

Really......? Given your knowledge around ABS operation yet you don't know that's a bleed nipple?

Dude, you guys are silly, the negativity lol

It’s a forum, an exchange of knowledge, and a commiseration, meaning it’s implied that nobody here is an expert at everything about these bikes, and that’s okay. Some of us have experience on stuff others don’t, and vice versa.

There’s an expression. “Ignorance is okay, stupidly isn’t.”

Because none of us are experts at everything, meaning we are all ignorant on some subject matter, stupidly is thinking you don’t have anything useful to learn and willfully avoiding learning.

Ask questions, make less statements, and people will argue over silly .... less…life is short man.

Don't try and use logic Steven, I don't think that will stop him.

you are always going to get poles apart information which one end can be factual and the other completely misleading! I like it when said information can be backed up with evidence not just that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it but I can't evidence it ill just smart the thread with bitchy comments like above....

Lets take this topic then. Does changing the master cylinder bore size effect the operation of ABS?

So spank me?

ABS isn’t exclusive to bikes you know?

And chill, there’s no need to get salty. I asked a question. Are you able to answer it or are you locked in smartass mode?

The evidence is that there’s plenty of V4’s running the RCS 19 with no consequence to ABS operation.

No salt..... I agree ABS isn't just on bikes but its a relevant point. You commented on ABS but asked a as you put it noob question about a bleed nipple.
I disagree. there are plenty of V4s running with a 19 master cylinder fitted, but I would suggest your no consequence is wrong, if you understand how an ABS unit operates.

Yea it’s a noob question because I’m relatively new to bikes.

Go on then… enlighten us on how ABS works!

I ran the Stylema calipers with a 19 ratio master on another bike, no ABS. Not huge difference in lever travel, but it was less. It was, much much harder at the lever, extremely wooden. Obviously, you adapt quickly, so, it was usable, but I went back to the 17 quickly. Tbf, I also very much like a soft lever, that is easy to modulate.

No ABS......and of course on a v4 that's another whole new question....

Well since you didn’t bother to provide any evidence for your theory I did some research… there is more than one type of ABS both mechanical and electronic, all of which rely on an integrated pump and valves to control brake pressure to the caliper based on wheel speed.

So neither the MC or caliper piston size have anything to do with it.

ABS pulses/regulates pressure internally based on continuous feedback from wheel speed.

Oh dear.... can I suggest you read again then....

Ah now the insult! well done. Did you not read what Steven wrote earlier?

You are wrong, and clearly don't know what you are talking about. Thats not my fault. Neither is it my job to explain anything to you.... You are angry and are going off on one with insults, so its pointless me trying to explain/clarify.

Ah Mugello.... I've got Portimao and Brno before Mugello.....

What insult 😂 are you deluded?

Keep your knickers on Andy, I don’t mean any disrespect but your consistent trolling can get a little distracting.

And even though I’m correct about the ABS I’ll digress ✌️

you are far too clever for me then .....still completely wrong even with you poor get out clause of suddenly calling out names like trolling,..ffs:rolleyes:

ON a V4 Panigale ( other brands are just as complicated I'm sure) If you change either the bore of the master cylinder side of the ABS unit, ie more volume of fluid( not ratio as in pressing harder that ok) or, if you change the callipers (as in bigger pistons, moving a bigger volume of fluid) then you are altering the perimeters that the valves, sensors and system in the ABS brain have a known value for. That isn't to say when you pull the lever the pads won't go on to the front discs, its just that you have pissed with all the research and settings of the manufacture and therefore the item went work as it is intended to, but good luck.

If you remove the ABS completely then there are all sorts of systems linked within the technical running of the bike that you are fooking with! Its not just as simple as removing an ABS pump going direct what ever master cylinder to what ever callipers and be done with it.
