I am interested to see what fuel range people on average are getting on their V4's, I know it all depends on how the bike is ridden but I am alarmed to see all the online reviews on YouTube quoting 100+ on a tank in some cases saying 160 miles, Im getting no where near this ever.
I ride my bike daily, yes as a commuter bike approx., 8 miles each way to work so in total 16 miles a day in town through 40 mph zones with a nice stretch where I can open up and have some fun and all I'm getting is between 70 - 80 miles on a full tank, is this normal.
It is what it is but why are motorcycle review channels quoting as much as 160 miles on a tank?

Mine is the same 70-80 miles and gas light comes on when taking it easy. My 1199 when taking it easy gets about 95 miles and the gas light comes on just for some comparison.

Ok thanks, so I'm not that far out then, as I mentioned above why do online reviewers claim 160m range ???? skip to 06:40 mins and see what I mean and this channel isn't the first to state over 100 miles per tank

Been pretty consistent with 100 miles till the light goes on... this is riding “spirited” so more may be possible if you tried to be “ECO”, but that’s not what this bike is for :)

Perhaps 160 is to the point where it actually runs out, whereas most people quote to the point where the light comes on, which is two thirds empty if I recall. You would have to ride it at 40mph on the freeway to get anywhere near 160!

I swear I can hear cylinder deactivation cancel or kick off when I twist the throttle at idle.
It’s WAY better than that .... they put in cars “auto stop/start” I always turn that off

unless it doesn’t have this feature, then I’m full of ....

I am alarmed

Yeah, ur bikes purging fuel.

“fuel dumping”

Nope, you’re not hearing differently

the Piston is shut off to provide less heat plus fuel consumption

I am consistently at 80 miles when the light comes on. I haven't tested how far I can go before it actually runs out. I'm a bit disappointed with this (yes, I know it is a race bike). For some of the mountain riding I do, this doesn't get me to the next gas station. 120 miles would have been the ideal range.

I made the joke about my 1299 that it’s really quick at getting me from Shell station to Shell station.
I was accused of “beating the balls off of it”
I can’t see the V4 being any more fuel efficient or inefficient.

while we’re on the topic, you guys all know that Shell V Power Nitro 93 oct is the right fuel for these bikes, right?

I also get 95 miles before the light turns on. I don't know where in the heck they got 165, maybe the meant kilometers which is ~100 miles. At track pace that might be max range. Seems to add up better.
