Wow I was unaware of this? I have a Blade and previously owned a few R1's but they were nothing like my Pani
The Dealer told me that the new V4 is much cooler to the feel for the rider and mentioned some story of superior cooling within the 4 pots.

Didn't notice any issue in my brief test ride on an S, but it wasn't a hot day in any case. Should be better than than the twins due to the underseat fuel tank and rear subframe mounting changes providing a buffer, plus the pipes off the rear cylinder bank being smaller and routed differently. The twins mounted the lightweight rear subframe straight to the head, so of course it was going to heatsink in a hurry. Not having a real frame is why the twins were particularly warm to be on; the part you sat on was bolted directly to a 150,000 watt heater... As well, any longitudinal V is going to subject the rider to more heat relative to an I-4 since there are combustion chambers and exhausts in close proximity to your crotch.
